FM Editor - Guide/FAQ

How to Use the Editor?

This is a guide soley based on how to use the FM07 Editor, alot of people have recently made threads regarding how to do certain things in the Editor and questions as what certain bits do and why they can't acess certain areas. Read this and all will be Clear.

Common Questions:

How to Access It?:
Everybody should be able to access the Editor, with the earliest patch, if you have the earliest you only have some things in the latest patch. The Editor can be found in the Sports Interactive folder, or in the start menu alongside where FM07 Is unless you moved it. If you still can't find it then do a search on your computer for the .exe.

The Main Purpose of the Editor?:
The main purpose of the editor is to create databases or to tweak current ones to your satisifaction, the idea of the Editor is to give you complete control over your game and let you decide what you want to have for example a super league a super player.

Does it Cost?:
The FM Editor doesn't cost a dime, it comes installed with the game package, when you install FM07 You are also installing the Editor, which enables you to change things.

Does it affect Current Games?:
The Editor doesn't affect current saved games, it only changes things for future games you have in mind, if you wish to change already saved games use FMM (Fm Modifier).

How Many Databases can i have?:
There is not limit to how many Databases you can have stored on your computer but due to the power and capacity of your computer this may change. If you wish to not slow your computer down i suggest not having more than 6 Databases.

Patch?:
You can only do teams, competitions and Stadiums ith Patch 7.0.2, on Patches before you can't so download the latest patch to follow this.

More Detailed Questions:

Can i Create a New League?:
yes you can this is a long winded process which i will explain, read carefully.

Step 1:Find the league your looking for on Wikipedia or other reliable sources. Wikipedia. Find out how many teams are in each league as you cannot change the current amount of teams in the leagues otherwise it crashes.

Step 2: Open the editor and search for a league that has the same league structure as your desired league (Search > Competitions). if you don't find any then try using the Dummy Competitions there are 6, however they are all league competitions not cups unless you know how to turn them into cups.

Step 3: Change the TLA (Three Letter Abbreviation) to your desired league name. Then edit the reputation, Competition level and finally the Nation and Continent it's on. This can determine the reputation of the league and the players it attracts. For Example players whould rather go to a league in England than Mongolia.

Step 4: You know have to create the teams for the league(s). To do this go to Edit>Create Club. Then give them a name, TLA, Nickname, reputation and squad morale.Next assign them a stadium, if you wish to create a stadium then go Edit>Create Stadium. Follow the onscreen boxes, the best size is 116*76.

Now back to the Club. You now have to give them Finances, if your league is a high reputation one then give them a balance of £30 million. £15 Million transfer budget and however much wage budget you feel is necesarray. Now the competitions, set it to the league you just made. Kit's are up to you but you have to make a home and away kit. Players you will possibly have to create unless you are swapping players. To give the club rivalries, edit the Realationships panel and give the other teams 100 for hate. To create feeder clubs edit the Affiliated Clubs bit , tick if you wish for it to be a financial, player or loan system link. Finally if you wish to give the club some past history then edit the history and records tab.

Step Five: You now have to do this for every club you wish to create. Then when you have done the number of teams in the league your replacing, swap them over. Then change the TLA'S off the league our replacing to your league you made and the one you made to the league your replacing. Then if you replaced the Estonian league you can now call it whatever you wish aslong as the teams are the same numbers. Run your game and check the results. Ask if problems arise.

How to Create a Nation:

This guide will tell you how to make a new nation and make them playable in the game. IF You wish to create a new nation, as i'm doing, then this will help you. It is not Hard coded into the game , it is similar to changing clubs over ect. Follow this and you can create your own teams. I'm creating Shetland and Orkney which will be fun.

Step One:
Firstly Decide your nation your creating, check on the editor first on if they are already on the game, playable or unplayable, if not then you can skip to Step 4. If yes then this will help you decide.

Step Two:
Some countries/Islands are involved a competition called the Island Games, 2007 is the next one. In each competition is some teams which a national team but not play or on the game at all. Also look at the NF Board, there is over 50 countries or Islands to choose from.

Step 4:
If you skipped to here , then this will help you. Choose a nation in whatever Continent they are or you want them to be. (For example i'll replace Luxembourg) with Shetland and Orkney Islands. Search in the Nations Tab for C.I.S, then change C.I.S's name, stadium ect to Luxembourg's but call the old Luxembourg C.I.S. Now you have your nation ready. Simply edit the info, so instead of C.I.S It's now Shetland and Orkney Isles.

Step Five:
If you have done all the clubs, all the players, all the physio's and the league change you have finished i am prepared to awnser any question's you may have.

How to make a Super League:

Quite alot of people ask how to make a super league and it's quite a straight forward process just follow this.

Step 1: Decide which league you are replacing with the Super League, for example i use English Premier Division. Now go through the teams and swap them with the teams you which to be in the league. Aslong as you have 20 it will run. Do this all the way down to The last club playable in England.

Step 2: Change the name of the English Premier Division to the World Premier Divison, Championship to Gold League ect.

Step 3: Finished.

=====

Can i create a nation League?:

I am currently in the process of making one it takes quite a while but is definately possible.

Step 1: Choose the league you wish to replace, English Premier for me. Now to se about creating the nations in the league you have to create clubs for them and name them, England, Potugal ect. Then once you do a team you swap them with a team in the Premier Division. You do the same for the Championship and below.

Step 2: To decide the players, rather than go through the whole game and from memory use this site which lists all the players who played in the qualifiers. Fab Site

Step Three: Once you have done all the clubs test the game.

======

These are the only thing's i can think of at the moment, any questions ask.

re: FM Editor - Guide/FAQ

for your nations league thing. does that mean that once you have started you can sing players of other natinalities. cause thats kind of pointless. is there a way to do what they did with Athletic Bilbao in spain so you can only sign players of your countries nationality?

How do you enable the dummy comps to become playable, and is there away to turn a league or two into a cup?
