Online play isn't fun anymore; Too many cheaters |
|
I haven't played this game in a year but just got internet hookup to play online. It is not like I remember. When I played before, other players used to use in game strategy and special moves to win. Now, nearly all of the online players use what I think are cheat/cheap moves. All the online players seem to just loft the ball over critter from half field, kick the ball against the wall/retrieve it, and kick it in, or some variation of these moves. I think that kind of play is taking advantage of a hole in the game. It's not even fun when all a player does is run the ball upfield, kick it against the wall, and kick it in before the computer controlled goalie can get it.
Sure, maybe playing tough defense can stop it, but it only takes a few of those goals and the game is over. Also, I could learn those moves and compete, but thats not the way the game was intended to be played. I kind of feel the same way about players who only use Boo side kicks and use his invisibility move past critter, but at least that is a special boo move. I don't use that strategy though either because I think it again takes advantage of a hole in the AI. I won't be playing online anymore because of these types of players. I am a very good player with DK, and fast characters, but what's the point in being a good player if everyone I play is just using the same old moves. Just not fun anymore... | |

There is an actually letter from Next Level Games where they say the "z" chip moves were ment to be a part of the game. The only move that was not intended and is a total glitch is the boo deke into your own goalie and then free goal after the shot.
