Keep getting lost... |
|
I only just got the game so I'm a bit of a noob, but is there a way you can get directions or something, cause I always get lost of the track. Or do I just have to learn the city really well. ------------------- ![]()

You just have to learn the City really well, know the roads and everything, eventually you will know where places are. -------------------

I've gotten pretty use to it now. Don't really have this problem any more except for races with really complicated routes. ------------------- ![]()

Is there a HUD or GPS system in this game? Games this vast definitely needs something along those lines so you don't get lost. ------------------- ![]() It's official. I have truly become a babysitter on Neo. Redemption, I want my $7.00 an hour!

I haven't played this game yet, but with such a huge map, doesn't that pose a problem finding things, like specific races? I mean even NFS: Carbon has a GPS system where you can drop a marker on a point, race, structure and then arrows will direct you there. ------------------- ![]() It's official. Nope, no such handy feature in Burnout unfortunately. Although there is some kind of GPS in place during races. The game tells you the race route by flahing road signs telling you to go left or right before you reach a junction. It's not perfect but it's better then relying entirely on your sense of direction during a race. -------------------

lol I don't mean to bitch about a game I never even played before, but this makes me roll my eyes. I mean, this is the NEXT GEN. How the hell could they not put SOME kind of a GPS system in for finding events, races and other important things you need to get to? Do they at least have a "jump to" feature like NFS: Carbon, where you can go to a place on the pause map and just jump to tha particular event? ------------------- ![]() It's official. re: Keep getting lost... |

i can tell you that it is worth the buy. i havent raced in many races yet but the ones i have done have been easy to navigate. during a race there is a compass of sorts to at least show if you're going the right direction. plus it is fun just driving around finding barriers, billboards, and special jumps (no map req'd). ------------------- With great age comes great naivete. I am not worried as much about the races. Checkpoint races are always fun because you find your own way to the points. My concern is having this HUGE world and not being able to find anything, not knowing when you have done a series of races, and not being able to drop a GPS marker on an event or race you want to try. ------------------- ![]() It's official. quote ChiroVetteI thought you already bought the game but left it unopened? Anyway to answer more of your questions: There IS some sort of GPS in Burnout as I already said in my last post. No, there is no 'jump to' feature. But it really is no big deal. You're making a mountain out of a molehill by basing your purchase on these features. First of all during races there IS a GPS. The game tells you in advance to go left or right at the next junction. Secondly, the map isn't HUGE. It takes about 2 or 3 minutes to cross from one side to the other. Thirdly, the clever design of the map makes it easy to remember hotspots as no 2 streets look the same. Fourthly, places worth visiting are mostly Race start points so after a while you'll have no problem locating hotspots. To answer your other question, you can see what events you've completed on the map. -------------------

No, I have a lot of unopened games, but Paradise isn't one of them. I also thought that the map was larger than it apparently is. Thanks, Mnmfan. ------------------- ![]() It's official. I have truly become a babysitter on Neo. Redemption, I want my $7.00 an hour!

re: Keep getting lost... |

Well I might be wrong but to me it doesn't feel huge. Although I have 300+ hours racked up in the game so maybe I've just gotten so used to it that it no longer feels that massive. Even so the lack of a 'Jump to' feature and a proper GPS really is no big deal. I remember when I 1st started playing Burnout it never bothered me. -------------------

Their is a HUD but it doesn't tell you were to go. You can pause the game and look at the map to help you plan what to do next but that kinda ruins the race a bit. ------------------- ![]()
