Ultimate Races????

Okay I am at over 90% completion and some of the last "Ultimate Races" are INSANE! Who the *bleep* programmed these races anyway and what the mother*bleep*ing Hell do they expect from me in order to win them?!!!

I am talking about these races:

  • Crinale
  • Opus 2
  • Opus 3
  • Opus 5

HOLY CRAP I seriously wish the programmers of this game DEATH AND CANCER, I really do. What in the name of everything holy am I supposed to do to win them?

I have the Absoluto Bisanti with Flex Nitrous, The Ultimate Slipstream Plugin, special tires and the best engine upgrades, and they are near as I can figure, almost impossible. Does ANYONE have a clue? Because I am seriously ready to cut the RR7 disc into about a thousand *bleep*ing pieces right now, as I have been stuck on these races for *bleep*ing DAYS NOW!!

    re: Ultimate Races????

The Ridge Racer series lately has seemed to be the ultimate of the wrist slitter like games, seemingly impossible to beat if you are out of practice by even a little bit and totally tedious even if you are in practice.

This is the only tip I could find which sounds halfway competent, and to tell you the truth, I'm not going to even try it:

    quote
Just experiment using Nitro. I used Bisonte to beat both of them fairly handily. I still race them from time to time for fun as well. Simply find out when to use NOS effectively. I will tell you for Devil to use one just after the start to UC (ultimate charge) on the first turn, then do it before the tunnel to UC on the turn before the sharp turn. Then NOS on that straight away to UC around the two left turns, and NOS coming out and over the bridge. UC drift the right turn and then the left turn, and NOS it from there back to the start, Rinse and Repeat.

    re: Ultimate Races????

Yeah I tried all that advice. lol if you look at the thread you cut and pasted that quote from, I am in there asking questions too, and the truth is that I am about ready to give this one up and leave it at 90% completion. It is just too damn tedious and the AI, in my last Ultimate Challenge races is just too robotic and perfect. It seems like an awful lot of work for something that is supposed to be FUN.

I'd say it's time to kick it then. Having the chance to experience the fulfillment of finishing the bloody game is going to be offset by how much work it took to finish it. Games are meant to be challenging, not irritating. =)

    re: Ultimate Races????

I want to and maybe I will, but the problem is I am only 4 freaking races away and I really want to unlock everything the game has. I just don't get why ANYTHING in a video game has to be this damn difficult.

    Hahaha angry Chiro!
A lot of games just aren't challenging enough though. Ya know, Halo 1 just doesn't cut it for me. It never gets impossible.

Of course, when you start getting really frustrated, and deterred from playing it, and you actually stop playing the game it isn't a good thing for the developers.
Until you inevitably pick it up in a few months, motivated to win again.
That is, unless you sell it.

And that's my point right there! Why the *bleep* is a game supposed to get "impossible"?!! A game is supposed to present a challenge, a FAIR and REASONABLE challenge. I mean, they got my *bleep*ing money, what more do that want, my blood?? My left testicle? My firstborn male child in exchange for having everything unlocked? What? Seriously, why are games supposed to EVER get "impossible"? Seems to me that this defeats all the FUN that you are supposed to be having with...HELLO, entertainment?? If I want absurdly difficult I will join the special forces. Why these damn idiot game developers have to make their games, which are SUPPOSED TO BE FUN, into work, grueling and hard WORK, I still have yet to figure out.

    re: Ultimate Races????

It's only the end of the game though isn't it? If the game was too easy (*hint* Need for Speed), then you wouldn't feel challenged, and you would feel ripped off.
    No?

    re: Ultimate Races????

    NO!!!!!!

Not even a little! Okay, if it was TOO EASY to the point of being boring, yes. However you are talking in extremes. What you are saying is that if a game is too easy it sucks, and what I am saying is if a game is too hard it sucks! Now what you aren't grasping, is we are BOTH RIGHT. Why do you assume that just because I think these races are TOO HARD that I want the game dialed down to a point where I could beat it with my eyes closed?

NO MAN! I want a REASONABLE challenge. I want a FAIR challenge. I should NEVER have to spend days and days and days and days on ONE race, knowing I am going to have to do the same thing for the next one I CANNOT pass. You are assuming that because I think these four races are too hard that this means I want the game dumbed down to the point where a "special" child could pass it while drooling on himself and shitting his diaper!

No again! What I want is for the REALLY REALLY REALLY hard stuff to be dialed down just a hair, just a notch to make it MORE FAIR!!! Please stop making it sound like I want a game that an infant can pass. See what I mean now?

    re: Ultimate Races????

    I do.
    But do you feel challenged?
Ok ok, but I think perhaps you need more practise at the game. Better yet, try a walkthrough. You need to be so good at the game, that you can beat the races. Then, and only then will you have truly mastered RR7.

    Is there an 'easy' mode?

    re: Ultimate Races????

No there isn't. And the whole "You need to master it" to unlock everything argument is bullshit to be honest. I paid them MONEY! I want everything unlocked with a REASONABLE effort. Look man, I am NOT looking to get a Doctorate in Ridge Racerology here. I just want to beat the game, unlock all the cool stuff and MOVE THE *bleep* ON to one of the other ten games I have yet to open on the 360 and PS3. I don't see why this is so much to ask for. Oh and there are NO GUIDES for RR7, I checked.

    re: Ultimate Races????

You're right there are no guides. I suppose all the kids that would sit and write a guide for a game are off playing some Nintendo game.
    Sounds reasonable.
