KOTOR Loading freeze |
|
Hey guys. Recently installed KOTOR. I've update it, configured it, press game and it loads at the image of the Ebon Hawk and then I get an error box with a bunch of random boxes. It looks like this:

I have KOTOR for xbox and I'm playing it on my 360. Recently the game has started freezing whenever I try to load a saved game, and it always freezes when the loading bar gets around 95%. Can anyone help me?

Well, playing KOTOR on the 360 is your first mistake...It doesn't run well to say the least even though it's supposedly backwards compatible. Best to go out and buy a regular Xbox which sounds crazy but for the amount of crashes your gonna experience I'd say it's worth it. Alternatively, and actually a better way of going about it is to buy the PC version, which has far fewer bugs, added content and player made Mods to download which makes the game that much more exciting.

Yup, both KOTORs are extremely glitchy played on the 360. I have KOTOR 2 and I've tried playing it on the 360 but the sheer amount of sound bugs and corrupt files made me want to put it down. You can get KOTOR for the computer and it runs great, even on Vista.

Actually, KOTOR hasn't run that bad on my 360. There is the occasional sound glitch and sometimes characters 'stutter' over their lines, but I think that it's negligible since the game itself is so good. Plus I don't feel like spending more money for a game I already have and can play ha. I was able to 'fix' the loading glitch; apparently there was some sort of cache error, and deleting the KOTOR cache files did the trick and the game works like normal again. These cache files are not the same as your saved-game files, so by deleting the cache files, you will not lose any progress in your game. These cache files are files that your Xbox 360 keeps for the last three games you've played. So in order to delete the cache files for KOTOR, all you need to do is load three games other than KOTOR all the way to their main menus.
(I know that was kinda watered down but I wanted to post it to help anyone else who might have the same problem | |
