Im sure the death star had to power up before the shooting actually happend. Like They knew they were going to destroy aldrean. Meaning they had been charging up for who knows how long.

If the Star forge planned an attack, they would have considerable amounts of ships against a star thats dull, charging.

Just when you think about it, the death star was like a one legged man in an ass kicking contest. It never stood a chance.

Yeah, well they would have had it charged up while they were orbiting around the planet. But I dont think they could just put the thing on full auto and start blasting away. It would probably have to charge up between shots.

Personally I would have to go with the Star Forge...after all its pure evil...it can harness dark energy...the Death Star cant do that....its just a Giant ship with a big Lazer...the Star Forge creates Ships and Droids...think about it....it's alive...but I have a question for you guys why was the Star Forge's and the Death Stars shield controls on planet surfaces and not within the actual ship itself?...does that make sense to anyone?

Star forge could prolly send out a buncha ships tp destroy the star b4 it could reach the forge.

They had planet controls to be a suprise and also because thats where some of the energy comes from. Unknown planet has so many jedi on it, just think of all the power it can absorb from that. And for the fact no one would look on a planet for controls to a shield for a ship.

No, no, you guys are mistaken. The whole sheld generator for the Death Star was on Endor, not just the controls. And the Death Star was complete throughout the whole movie. It was designed to appear as it was under construction. Pretty sneaky eh?

And the Star Forge didnt have a shield. But the planet had a disruptor field. And It looks as if the Star Forge is absorbing the energy from the planet.

No, the death star was not complete. They just made the guns opeational to destroy the rebel fleet.

Actually Ghost, it can. How else would it be able to hop from planet tio planet. And it also is bristling with 15000 turbolasers and 4000 Ion cannons, so it is more powerful than the star forge alone.

Please review your statement, Jones, you used Star Forge for both and you were demonstrating a comparison.

Death Star

The Star Forge was protected by Batilla's Battle Meditation and it was lost.

However the Death Star lasted quite a while after being discovered and it took 2 attempts to destroy it the first time.
