Two-Weapon Fighting - Why? |
|
What is the advantage of using a weapon in each hand?
Do you get more shots or saber swings or something? I can see the value of the Dueling feat since it raises attack and defense, but the Two-Weapon Fighting feat only reduces the attack penalty for using two weapons at a time. So why should we do it?

Well, I do it because it looks cool...
But I find that you do more damage - 2 sabers instead of 1 after all... ------------------- ![]()

Looks cool: yea, it does, can't argue with that...
More damage: I don't think so. The numbers remain the same for damage, but the hit ratio gets lower. More power crystals: Yea, but it's not really an advantage since you can change your saber during combat. Example: If you have a saber for power in one hand and a droid killer in the other, when you attack a human, you'll hit him with the droid killer half the time so he won't go down as fast as if you had only hit him with your power saber. Besides, even with Master 2-weapon fighting and a short saber in the off-hand, you'll still miss more often than with a single saber and Master Dueling. So basically, the only advantage we have left is that it looks cool...

No in turn based games if you have 2 weapons then you hit twice as fast. Plus with two weapons you can specialise them. Like i have 1 lightsabre for hard to hit, One for super damage, one for droids. That way i can mix and match them to kick the preverbial of anyone who comes near me!

2 lightsabres+master flurry thats the reason
some insane amount of attacks and if you have the right feats they hit most of the time i makes short work of most bosses/hard ass enemies

Two Weapon fighting:
Both weapons deal damage in the same round. So while the individual damages stay the same, you hit the enemy with both at the same time so that an additional damage # will appear above your enemy after each attack to show how much damage each weapon inflicted. Combining this with flurry, And master Speed lets you hit five times in one attak 1-right hand weapon +1-left hand weapon +1-flurry +2-Master Speed = 5 total hits in one attack. Thats why Duel Wielding is cool. Plus it lets you use double bladed light sabers which inherently do more damage already. P.s. The attack/damage of each weapon does not affect other in any way. -------------------

Also, as to your concern over having the droid killer in the off-hand preventing you from bringing down a human as fast, remember, you can switch weapons mid-combat, just not mid-swing. I tend to like having my primary hand be the uber-critical sabre (Opila and Nextor crystals, as I recall), and the off-hand, I usually put a Jenereaux in (the blaster deflect one). It doesn't do as much damage, but, near as I can tell, Speed and Flurry do extra swings with the on-hand only, so I get four attacks with the weapon that criticals very often, and does cracked out damage, and only one swing with the weaker weapon, but still get the blaster deflection bonus. All the happier for everyone. Plus, if you go Guardian and take Specialization in sabres, you get the damage bonus on both weapons. I just enjoy the tactical flexibility of having two customized weapons instead of just one. S'all a matter of personal preference.
