I know about the error message which requires you to gain/remove 500mb but this isn't the same (I don't think)

I've searched all over Google and other search engines but I simply cannot find anything about it!

I can get to Planet Mukow but when I'm flying to either the planet after it or the planet after that one, my game goes to a black screen and gives me and error message.

I've ruled this off as probably the game disc being screwed up but I really want to know if anyone has a plausible solution... or knows anything that might help me.

It's been like this for a long time and I do want to play the game before I move on to the other games..

EDIT: From a thread on GameFAQs: "You may need to delete the GAME data (NOT YOUR SAVE DATA) and re-install it. Fixes most minor bugs."

Which means, after all this time I can finally finish the game!
