Difficulty |
|
In Ratchet: Deadlocked they certainly upped the difficulty of the game, but it wasn't really what I hoped it would be. The only thing that made the game difficult was that the enemies took out a lot more damage than in previous games. Besides that, it wasn't really all that difficult.
I'd like if the enemies acknowledged each other. What I mean is I want the enemies to work as a team to get you instead of just all of them charging at once towards you. They should try to surround you and take you out from up close, not from afar since most of Ratchet's weapons are long range. The only enemies that really did this was the landsharks, but they were too weak to cause serious damage. ------------------- ![]()

I think they'll be smarter on a harder difficulty for sure, but how smart can you really go in Ratchet and Clank ?, it doesn't take brains to hammer R1 and destroy your opposition. I think there's a certain extent they can go to as to the AI of enemies.

I certainly hope that enemies are stronger right from the get-go. Only the tiny enemies should die in one shot. All others should take a few shots. There should even be some enemies that we face periodically in levels that take over 10 shots to kill (like a miniboss). Enemies should also move when being shot at and try dodge and not be hit.

Yeah, I was really disappointed with the dificulties in Deadlocked. The only thing hard about Exterminator was that you had to dodge more attacks.

Thats the great thing about the ps3. They can "up" the AI to make it a a great experience. Look at the game assassins creed. Each person in that game reacts differently. And this game will be coming out late next year, hopefully, so Insomniac knows more of what the ps3 can do.
The actions of the enemies should be changed. Instead of pop, shoot, die. It should be more like pop up, shoot, hid while another enemy pops up from behind to shoot. Then pop up again and shoot. -------------------

I really like the game as is. If for whatever reason they decide to change the difficulty level, I won't mind. Really, as long as a game is fun, I don't care about how hard or easy it is. Ratchet and Clank has a really high replay value, so as long as the game has that again, I don't care about much else. ^-^

Multiple levels I would personally like to see. Easy, Medium and Hard. Something along them lines would do me fine as I dont mind re doing a game as long as it is harder and the challange is there.

I was happy with the option of difficulty in Deadlocked. It really seemed like it got harder from one difficulty to another with Exterminator being challenging especially during Challenge Mode.

I really didn't find the harder difficulties that hard, when you think about it. All that was harder was that bigger enemies could kill you really quick. That's not really adding to the difficulty all that much. What would have been harder is if the enemies took 2-3 times more damage each (and maybe could take you out easy as well).

The enemies did take out more damage on higher difficulties. On Exterminator, Ace took out about 40/50 from your full Nanotech. The thing I disliked about the higher difficulties was that the A.I didn't improve. The enemies didn't get more aggressive, smarter, faster, they just did more damage.

I liked how in DL the enemies came from more angles, some were already visible, some came from drop ships, and others teleported to the battle field i would like how the enemies would come from an unpredictable location.

Well theres a little of that in every game, but I hope it returns as well. I'm replaying GC right now, and the enemies are coming from everywhere.
It would be interesting if enemies could regain health if you shoot them once and go onto other enemies without killing them. It would make battles last longer and would add some challenge. -------------------

I like your idea dragonclawz. It would also make things more difficult if enemies were able to use the Nanotech found in the stage. It would make you reluctant to leave the Nanotech even if your HP is near full, but that would only be if the enemies take a lot more to be defeated than in previous Ratchet and Clank games.
