re: Sample Graphics » Bleeding Gums and V-Veins Protruding
KB: The punisher -- I like how you have used the stock as the background multiple times to create that effect.. It works well with the the grungey theme you have.. However, the stock is a bit small for how wide of a banner you have made.. Either a smaller (and more reasonable) sized banner, or a larger stock would have made this banner so much better.. The text is well placed and well blended into the banner, making a nice finishing touch.
Iron Man -- TBH I don't like it.. It might just be me but it just doesn't appeal to me at all.. The color contrasting doesn't flow with the blue against the red (even though you have tried with the faded red to the left) And the blue light to the right draws my eyes away from the stock..
Ok, here is one I have just finished by slightly following a tut.. Noticed I wasn't quite on track and decided to just continue with the theme I had thought up..
C+C Please Can MORE than ONE person please comment on this please.. In the past I have had one comment and thats it, so I would really appreciate it if I could get some more C+C. Thanks.

Simple, but works well. Border doesn't really work though. Stock?
@wrath: Good font, good colours but the lower guy is over blended which kinda messes with the depth, a bit too much contrast too and the girl's head is partially cut off.

KeyBlader, you should of added the gradient maps to it. They bring the colours together and makes the peice much more smooth. N o, I wont comment on your peice because its in our battle; ^^

JiZZi, I like how you used the stock in that one. I'm really pleased with the outcome, I like looking at it. I was wondering where her arms were. xD I didn't notice that you got rid of them entirely, yet it looks like she was posing with them behind her back anyway. I really don't see anything I don't like about the piece besides maybe the border being a little distracting, and the dotted lines under her breasts. Still sexy.
Key Blader: Compared to the two at the top of the page, it does seem like you're improving. I just don't think the stock fits the background, just sorta sticks out like a sore thumb and stuff. It's better than the other two, but still needs work. Maybe try a change of color, and as was said before, gradient maps and a bit of blending would do it a lot of good.
N o: lol. What are you making it in paint for? I'm just curious. It amuses me, a lot. It looks like it could be trimmed down with all the empty gray background, and the head on the guy looks a little blobby. I like how you did the lighting effect from the gun just using the white spray can and how the body is shaded, I just think it needs a little smoothing around some body parts. Thing looks a bit blobby as a whole.
Uhm, so I haven't posted in ages and a half. In fact, my last post was on the first page of the last thread. I haven't done much since then, and I've really felt out of the loop. I forced myself to do something, very little done to it, but I did it anyway.
Really, I didn't do much with the stock itself. I couldn't think of too, too much. Went ahead and made a background using the gradient tool with a light pink and a darker pink, and from there just did a couple little things after duplicating the image. Motion blurred it twice up and to the right and changed it to Liner Dodge. Duplicated another over the image, gaussion blur > soft light to make the image stand out more. And then feathered the original image by 10 px and layered masked. Just to deal with it.
Painted up the background with a bunch of white heart brushes. Just thinking it would be a bit cutesy and so on. Yadda yadda, you get the idea with that. Haha. And then did a few clipping masks to see what it would do to the whole thing. I dunno. I'm sorta pleased with how that turned out, so moved on from there.
Len's flare on the bell, 'cause it's cute. ;D Brightness + Contrast, gradient maps, photo filter, 4 px white border, 1 px black border. Finished. First piece in a couple months. It beats nothing. It's more of a test, but hey, I need the C&C anyway. :3
WHOA. WALL OF TEXT. D: Sorry, felt the need to outline my steps. xD

Lightning: At first glance I'd say that the banner looks pretty good. But then I actually looked at the background and it looks like you just duplicated the original stock a bunch of times, moved the duplicates around, and blurred them. I don't personally like that I can make out the individual stocks like that; some more distorting via smudging/filters would have been better if you ask me. The text could also use some work: I think smaller would look better. Batman: Not bad. I think the finished product could use a nice sharpen filter, though. Also the sparks brush in the background looks a little randomly placed and the text isn't great. Colors match well.
Sapphire Dragon
Can you provide an example of the effect you were going for perhaps? I think what you managed to make looks pretty good. There's an odd bluish glow around the car, though, which turns me off a little. I think a few gradient maps at the end to help give it a finished, blended look would have been nice.

Na I actually, Ball parked, picked, motion blurred, gausian blur ect. I did all that and got that outcome for the background, but yes to start I did duplicate the render but then I did all those other things aswell...
EDL: The first one is obviously a sprite banner but even still Im not too fond of it...No real focal point (eventhough the oval surrounds your sprite), your eyes keep looking at all the vectors. Not too bad though
...The second ones great, good brushwork and flow. But again you should do somethin to emphasize the render. That's where I have my problems. But a great piece nonetheless...
