re: General Help Center

Just to clear it out for any other person, you can't make them in Photoshop.

To use them, usually you set the C4D on top and set the blending mode to Lighten or Screen, and then apply filters, etc. C4D-based tutorials have instructions on how to use them.

I honestly don't encourage you to use them. When you use C4D's, you're (bluntly speaking) basically ripping and pasting other people's work into your own. Once you do this, you cannot call that piece "yours" as you used another person's creation. However, I do encourage you to be creative and use other methods that don't involve incorporating a C4D in your piece.

On the other hand, if you have Cinema 4D, and you make your own C4D's, then go ahead, you can use your own. It is very difficult though. Cinema 4D is REALLY complicated, especially when doing abstract pieces, so I don't recommend it.

Oh ok. I'm not much a fan of that but I have seen a lot of tutorials where you have to use it.

Thanks The Answer; I guess you're the answer. =D

re: General Help Center

I did a little digging on the web and no I don't think that can be done, even with the new integration of Creative Suite 3. (i.e. opening PSDs in Fireworks).

re: General Help Center

When you select an area (Example on a banner), how can I then fill it with black? (For Lens Flare btw).

re: General Help Center

Takininja, just fill the whole canvas with black using the paintbucket tool then render your lens flare.

Klunk, try deleting the installers and redownloading them and making sure all traces of GIMP have gone if you have previous installed it. If that doesn't work, I don't know tbh.

re: General Help Center

That doesn't work if you have selected an area.

I don't mean the whole canvas but I've selected one part of it and I have to fill it with black but I don't know how.

re: General Help Center

Just brush black in the selected area...? The brushing won't go on anything other than the inside of the selected area.

re: General Help Center

Yes, I've tried that. But instead of brushing the area black, the brush tool erases it!

I've duplicated a layer and I had Gaussian Blur on it. And then that tutorial says "Make a selection and fill it with black" (without any explanations) and then make a Lens Flare...

re: General Help Center

Sounds like you're using the "History Brush Tool" instead of just the "Brush Tool". Use the button with only the brush on it; not the one with the arrow + the brush.

re: General Help Center

Hi, I don't know if this is the place to ask for help regarding this matter but I'll ask anyway.

I need three images scaled down and converted to thumbnails that provide a link to the larger image.

Here are the pics:
