Yeah, there's nothing wrong with a RDM being your only healers. I think in atleast 1/3 of my parties, a RDM was our only healer, and they wern't bad at all.

When there are less then 2 mages (smn, brd count as mages) in the party.
When your pld has armor out of date.
When (over level 30), 4 or more people do not use food.
When you have 3 or more of the following (any combo), drk, mnk, sam, drg, war, and thf (this rule can be excluded if everyone is extremely well equipped but odds are the party will stink)
When the level range is 4 or more levels and the lower levels are melee/tanks.
When you have a party full of pointless subjobs (ie whm/war, thf/bst, blm/thf, etc)
When your party is full of extremely under level subs
When mages or tanks do NOT know how to macro
When you have someone in the party thats on your blist (well you add them for a reason so the party is going to be bad)

I disagree because i wouldnt consider a Power leveler as a party member nor should there be one in every party. If your Power Leveler sucks, then he sucks but he's already a bonus for the party. Plus im sure most players have level a few jobs without a Power Leveler and PLers seem to only work for roughly the first 30 levels. After that, you pretty much need a level 60+ friend (and pretty much rdm) if you want him to Power Level a full party.

Hmm...well, if you have a PLEr, you might pull harder things, expecting that you'll beat them with the additional cures. But when your PLEr is going afk without telling you, or not even bothering to cure, or taking our money, getting us all killed, getting hate, and dieing, and not giving our gil back, (Taking 1.5k from each of us, says shes REAL good), then thats just bad.

If the Power Leveler is actually good, he or she probably will not even take your money. Odds are, the people who power level for money are not overly high level are do not know how to farm. The good Power Levelers are ones coming from linkshell and doing it as a favor.

What i'm saying is a Power Leveler should not be comsider a part of a party. Sure they CAN make you level faster but the best parties i have been in did not include a PLer. More often then not, i leave parties with PLer because i dont find it fair to have a PLer when other parties dont.

There is also a trend, parties with PLer seem to be worst off because they expect to PLer to keep them alive but a PLer cannot actually see the HP bar of everyone in the party and AOE attacks will pretty much make the PLer useless because he/she will not be able to heal everyone fast enough.

The game itself was not designed for players to PL a party. As one can see with all the white mage spells designed just for self party.

I'm pretty sure most Japanese players (when they started) did not have a Power Leveler and most Japanese Parties (speaking of the experienced japanese players leveling new jobs) do not actually use PLers.

Side note, all of this probably should be discussed in a different thread since it is kinda getting off topic.

You know when your in a bad party when after Chain 2 your WHM is about out of mp and the BLM (me) is dealing alot more damage than the thief. NOW I understand yes bLMs do deal alot more. But the thief should get somewhat close with Dancing Edge. He was only doing 400 which is REALLY low. Its so hard finding a goot party these days...
