The new and improved Ranking system is here and the only thing that is new and improved for the most part is who's running it. Everything is still going to be following the same rules - below - except we are starting fresh.
Remember this is intended as an add-on to Graphics Battles so normal battles will still take place. So as to distinguish between the Ranking battles and the Normal casual battles (which remain unrestricted), Ranking battles will have [Ranking] at the start of the the thread title. e.g. [Ranking] Synik vs The Dave

TheRules

The points system will work as follows:

- 2pts for a win.
- 3pts for winning with all 3 judges voting for the winning piece.
- Minus 1pt for losing a battle with one of the 3 judges verdicts in your favour.
- Minus 2pts for losing a battle with none of the 3 judges verdicts in your favour.

Battles must therefore be judged by all 3 judges, regardless of whether a winner has been found by two votes.

If a member fails to submit something before the battle's deadline then the full 3pts are awarded to the other member if they have successfully entered a piece and the other person will lose 2pts for wasting everyones time.

The normal Graphics Battles rules and judge list apply to these ranking battles so please make yourself familiar with them if you have not done so already, ie.- No pre made work and obviously no ripping etc. Originality is a weapon, use it.

Prospective battles may be discussed in Graphics Battles Main. However you must PM the person you are challenging with the request as well. If you do not PM the person then you risk losing the battle you were trying to organise. And don't lie and claim that you tried to PM someone when you didn't.

It is encouraged that you don't repeatedly challenge the same person, people have lives outside of neoseeker and it is only a nuisance. If you feel that someone is persistently challenging you without consideration then you may PM this account to help mediate the situation.

It is the responsibility of the winner to inform this account of the result through PM. It is also asked that the winner posts the results in the this thread too, so as to create a record of the results for the whole forum to see. This isn't complicated to do to make a PM and a post so just do it. If we see people not following this and forgetting the PM or the post you will be warned and from after that a point deduction will be given.

Basically, just battle around and see where it gets you. It is possible that after a few months of the current group of battlers they will be split up into an Upper and Lower Division sometime, so watch this space for info.

Although there is no rule governing deadlines it is advised that you do not set unnecessarily long deadlines for simple banner battles (ie.- a week or more). This is in order to "keep the flow going" and make sure the rankings don't get clogged up with needlessly long battles.

Hopefully people will be willing to battle and get this going well. Most importantly, it is hoped that you will enjoy the battles and the opportunities they give to improve. Happy battling...
