Is warhammer free to play and that you just have to pay to buy it and thats it you dont have to pay a monthly fee, if you do have to pay for it is there any other free to play games thats like WoW and warhammer besides guild wars???

If it comes to an MMORPG you are much better off to assume it has a monthly fee since 99% of MMORPG's have the fees.

This one wont be an exception to that.

The fees are for good reason. they provide support staff, upgrades to hardware and software, pay for dedicated servers, new content, etc....

Yeah, what MoRbIdE said. It is pretty much 100% guaranteed that there will be a monthly fee for WAR. But an MMORPG is more than just run of the mill online game, it is really more-so a hobby experience simply in the form of a game. So paying a monthly fee is a bit more understandable when you think of it like that.

Guild Wars does pretty well without monthly fees, but the games and expansions are at least 50 USD, and there's I think 3 expansions, so if you want to experience the entire game, it's going to cost you about $200. $10-15 a month isn't so bad if you have a job, but it seems ridiculous if you don't. Just remember that you pay about 5 times that for cell phone service. Sometimes a lot more.

I am fairly sure there will be a montly subsription for this game. And there are no good MMORPGs that don't have subsriptions... just look at guild wars for an example of that... if they are free... it means they can't get away with charging for it basically...

You mean like Guild Wars 1 was suppose to be a legendary WoW killer because of it's lack of a subscription... Guild Wars are just getting their money is another method and that is by just releasing new versions and expansions that you have to keep paying for... >.>... but meh. Personally I wasn't too interested in WoW anyways, it's only the fact it's kinda casually playable that I played it at all... I prefer proper MMORPGs to be honest =P.

Warhammer online is gunna be the only game to really challenge WoW head on as far as I can see... WoW is deffinantly going to suffer from WAR's release and Blizzard know this... that's why they are doing an expansion to try and keep people on WoW around the time WAR comes out...

Haha, hey now, let's not knock Guild Wars. It's a very successful online game, and with good reason. But no, Guild Wars isn't really a threat to most MMORPGs. It swoops up all the people who wouldn't be playing an MMORPG anyway, mostly.

Basically, for the price of one movie ticket in NYC, a small soda and a small cup of popcorn you have access to an ever-changing and growing world on demand (minus short downtimes for server or software upgrades).

Aww man i wanted a F2P game thats like WoW, well that sux badly but if they need players to pay to keep the servers running and stuff how do the people that make guild wars do it since they arent getting any money from ppl paying a monthly fee?

guildwars has crappy servers, you have to pay more for expansions, patches and upgrades come infrequently.

there is also a smaller player base so they dont require as many servers which means less overhead cost

Guild Wars doesn't feature a persistent world, hence the lack of an online fee.

Well guildwars is a good game for it being free, but there is lots of free MMORPGS out there goto mmorpg.com and look at all the free mmos there. I have to say that guild was is ONE of the best free mmos.

Again I state it, Guild Wars is not free, you have to pay for the game and expansions. Whilst that does not cost as much in the long run as a subscription, it does still cost a lot more then most games would.

Personally however when it comes to online games, I'd rather be on NWN2 then Guild Wars, neither have subscription but NWN2 is more for people whom can get their heads around D&D rules and stuff... hee. WAR is a proper MMORPG with persistant worlds and will be under continual support, like most MMORPGs should be but to support that and support server costs, costs money. As such it will have subscription costs.
