re: Cost?

I'm guessing the same as most other MMORPG's, $15/£10 a month.

re: Cost?

They may also do a lifetime subscription deal, this seems to be popular now these days with MMO's. Aprox $200 and you'll never have to pay a monthly fee again.

re: Cost?

wow, $200? Sure its for a life time, but I dont think I would pay that. ONly if it was a truly great game that I know I will play forever.

However I thought that about runescape(I kid you not), and now I havent been on that for a year.

re: Cost?

I haven't heard anything of a lifetime subscription deal, but it's looking to be the equivalent of $15 a month.

re: Cost?

$200 works out to like 13 months. so i dont know if i would be planning to play for more than that or not but i might consider the $200, cause not having to pay monthly would be so kickass.

re: Cost?

You ever play an MMO before? Usually it's something that lasts years and years, haha. I played WoW for 3 years... but I sold my character for $400, so I ended up getting all my money back.

re: Cost?

Cost is currently up in the air.

quote MBJ
Folks,

There will be no lifetime subscription available for WAR. Not a chance, prayer, hope, etc. I believe lifetime subscriptions are a not good thing for players or for the developer/publisher over the long-term. If we are doing our job, the monthly subscription price will seem quite reasonable for what you get in return. If we aren't doing our job, well, you know where that leads to. All a lifetime subscription does is bring in more money to the company in the short-term and hurt the company in the long-term by providing a financial disincentive to keep improving the product and by contrast, by providing a financial incentive to go to a new game or more expansion packs/monetization options.

In terms of the actual price, we haven't fully discussed that yet. When DAoC came out we charged just a little more than our competitors because we felt we were offering players more and that we thought that the current price point was a bit low for what we were putting into the game. I can promise you this, the price point will not be below what we are charging now for DAoC and it certainly won't be $30 USD per month. ...
The $30 comment is in reference to someone else's comment in a thread from where I took this from. So no worries on it being any where close to that. My personal thought is that they wont go higher than $20. The economy is far to weak to do that I think.

re: Cost?

sucks that theres no life time fee though. but if its like $16.95 a month or so, that should be fine.
