Hi guys. Firstly I'll get some of the simple details out of the way:

My copies of Oblivion, Shivering Isles and KotN dvd's are all legit, PAL region discs. I don't own the GotY edition, these three are individual releases. My PC is XP and Oblivion and Shivering work perfectly already.

I have Oblivion and Shivering installed and now want to add the KotN features, and I havent used any patches.


When trying to install the patch on the KotN dvd it came up with an error I'm sure you'd be familiar with, the "Old file not found" deal.

I know people have seen this error at varying points in the process of patching but it happens instantly for me.

Is this patch integral and necessary for the features on the disc to run?


Out of curiosity I installed the features without the patch and ran the game, all the prompts for new quests came up and I went to the Anvil chapel of Dibella to discover it in shambles and looked around but no matter what I did I couldnt trigger the next part of the quest and there was nobody inside. Is this a clear sign that the KotN addon is not running due to not patching it?


Any help you could provide would be much appreciated. I know its asking a lot but I'd want to avoid uninstalling Oblivion entirely to fix it, but if I must..

ok first of all i think that you might have to ask about the preacher, and also you could try saving you savegames somewere else and then re installing everything
