A while back i was considering buying this, i ended up buying LOTRO (Lord Of The Rings Online).

the game wasnt all it was made out to be, the quests were really boring and the game was empty in terms of other players. The armours were nothing great either and looked as though the game makers were easy. They looked pretty much the same thing with a differnt name and stats. The PvP was also terrible.

So im thinking of buying WOW but i dont know if it will be any differnt.

Could you tell me why it is better and what cool features it has.

Also if you have played LOTRO and WOW could you post a comparison about how if each game betters the other please?

LOTRO is pretty much an extremely crappy imitation of wow with a *bleep* ed up story

I played in the LOTRO closed beta. I thought I'd like the game but I quickly became bored of it because it was just stupid. I had high expectations and the only good thing I found about LOTRO were the graphics. No need for a comparison, LOTRO proved to be just one more failed copy of Blizzatd's MMORPG, to me at least.

The quests in WoW are much better, the interaction with the mobs and players feels different for some reason. I've played so many games and WoW is the only MMORPG where things run smooth and battle is fluid and intense, especially in PvP...

In the short while I had LOTRO, right near the release, I saw about 10 people in like 5 days... In WoW, which I bought after LOTRO I saw alot more people like 500 most of which interactd with me and te social aspect was good.

In LOTRO I got to about lvl 3 and I was bored of the quests.
In WoW I'm only lvl 31, but I haven't been bored that much, also if you do get bored there are lots of races and classes to be, so you can leave who you are bored of in an inn and play someone else for a while. Also in WoW the instances are very fun in my opinion.

Correct me if I'm wrong but also I'm pretty sure WoW is cheaper.

Lastly, although I never got to a high lvl, the PvP aspect in LOTRO sounds awful, where as in my experience the PvP in WoW is very very fun!

So yes buy WoW.

I've played both.

WoW is better, much better.

LOTRO is more than playable, slightly enjoyable and with decent deals for the subscriptions it's worthwhile playing.

WoW is a lot better though, as the majority who post in this thread will tell you.

Like teodor said, the fluidness of WoW is the main factor in deciding between the two. I also prefer WoW's graphics and the Quests are a lot more interesting.

Wow is a fun game but in no way did it push any limits, the PVP is average and the game content is 99% end game raids, which are time consuming at best.

They both consume too much time. Your better off buying a video game you can beat in a week.

My friend bought LOTRO in the summer and said it was terrible. He told me that WoW was a lot better. I played WoW for a bout a month or so and I thought it was very fun but the thing that I didn't like about it is that in order for you to accomplish anything in the game it must be the only game you play, and you must play it A LOT. I didn't like that fact because I usually like to play two or three games at a time and when I did that I would notice that it was taking me forever to level in WoW. Also, I'm not a fan of paying $15 a month for a game after already paying $40 for it. The other thing that kept me from playing it a lot was that I was busy with my landscaping business and school(it was early in school year) so I never got to play much. I'm thinking about reinstalling it but I don't know if I should. A couple of my friends that used to love WoW finally stopped playing it and urge me not to install it because it's not worth it. I'm thinking of joining a private server since they can be free. I really have an urge to buy a prepaid card and reinstall it but I don't have a lot of money right now since landscaping season is over and I have to put $50 into my gas tank every week I've been playing a lot of Crysis, CS:S, and a little bit of Hellgate: London. I'm hoping Hellgate will get better but it seems that won't happen for a while. I'm playing through on Elite since it's a challenge but gets rather dull after a while(I hate it when games are rushed). That's also why I don't know if I should play WoW again, because I would still want to play CS:S and Crysis(with my clan).

I think u should play, who cares if u dont play much I dont play much and i have a lvl 50 shaman. Imo Crysis has the best graphics i have seen but the gameplay is lame. Killing Foot soldiers on an island with hightech armor :/

I just reinstalled WoW and have been playing on private servers yesterday and today but I might go to the store and buy a gamecard in a little bit or tomorrow because these private servers have too many glitches. I just hate the thought of paying $15 a month for a game even though they don't need that money. They could get away with it being $5 a month(which I would have no problem paying) or even free. Yes I know they do maintenance but other games do maintenance for free. I mean, just think how much money they make in one year from subscriptions alone from 10 million player, then think about the amount they've made from the game being sold.
