Question of a rookie Mage

I was wondering what was the use of Ice Block in PvE ?

At first, I thought it would be like the Bubble of Paladins, but heck no. While in Ice Block, the Mage can't do squat !

What's the utility ?
Thanks !

To let your partner kill them... or to let Frost Nova get off cooldown.. and in dungeons it's like feign death, lowers aggro.

ice block is amazing. it is basically the same as pally bubble (would you really want the same exact move? wtb variety)

ice block removes all debuffs, makes you immune, drops aggro, looks cool.

but yea, full frost mages will just ice block and just send their water elemental to do a bunch of dmg while the mage is immune. i kno my asshole roomate did that to me in duels.

re: Question of a rookie Mage

Ice Block is just like Taunt (of the Warrior) in PvE, only it works the other way round. If you're top on the Aggro meter, it make the second on Aggro meter the target of the mob/mobs that were coming for you.

Its not like Feign Death, it just freezes your aggro, allowing the tank, who should be second in Threat, regain Aggro. Invisibility is more like Feign Death, because you rapidly lose Aggro during 5 seconds, then you become Invisible, making you lose all of your aggro.

Ice block is also good in pve cuz you can get healed while in it. So not only do you not take damage, and lose aggro, your healer can heal you as well;)

Also, iceblock can stop all incoming damage from either falls/DoTs on you, and will more or less likely remove them
