Nothing you hear about WOTLK can be considered true at first glance. The only thing I believe is what's on Blizzard's WOTLK official website. You can believe what you want but I know many people who got disappointed with rumored content of Burning Crusade.

That's the official stats before it's released. The chances of it being changed before implemented are very, very high, but that's how it is right now.

Also, the other pic's (the fake one) name is in red because artifacts were orginally plannned to be in red, before this page was updated and it was removed.

Also, I think it should be one per server, DK/warr only. I don't care if it's quest reward or drop, but I definitely think it should be unique.

My idea for how to get it: Arthas should I think, in his last moment before the boss himself becomes lootable, shatter his own blade and send the peices throughout the world. You get one peice of the handle. And you go through Azeroth and Outland with of course no clue as to where the peices are, and you search for them for a very long time. Maybe even Blizz could make it so they generally go to any random freindly-to-you NPCs in the game. Not just a set group of them. And they could give you their peice for the quest. There could be about 50 peices, all of epic-legendary rarity, and you get 50 shards of the blade and two peices of the handle that you don't have, and the rune that gives it it's power, thus recreating the blade. After that, you go to a place near Icecrown Citedel, and Arthas and Ner'Zhul's redeemed spirits ask you to destroy it, so the world will be rid of it. You of course say no, and there you have it, you own Frostmourne, Blade of the Lich King.
Death Knight only.
I like the one-per-server idea.

If they do make it obtainable then I agree it should be one per server, I also think that if one person was lucky to get it they should keep it for a while, having a Lich King title shouldn't be banded about. A time frame along the lines of arena seasons would be acceptable.

If it was spread over 50 NPCs, which I really doubt it will be but I'll play along, the list of them would be up days after its released. People will just trawl through the game data and work out where the quests are etc.

I'm thinking very low drop rate over quest. That way people do have a chance to get it, just a very low one. It'd be like playing the lottery.

I hope it drops for the first server kill and the first server kill only.

Frostmourne has been confirmed to be only usable by warriors and death knights, and will definitely be a legendary item.

1. I would say it should be around 5 per realm but only weildable by Death Knights and Paladins.

2. If a Paladin gets it then over the space of a few weeks or months he gets turned into a Death Knight.

3. Whoever weilds is considered unfriendly with most NPC's and friendly with like all of Arthas's undead.

4. If a player is killed while weilding Frostmourne there is like a 0.001% chance the they will drop it so that the player who killed them can get it.


Thats my idea on how it should work

Frostmourne is a cursed runeblude forged by the Lich King to corrupt and enslave a powerful human champion. It's malice destroyed the kingdom of men and elves and left in its wake an irreversible taint upon Azeroth.

Yeah, you should definitely be able to weild that, and a mere debuff is TOTALLY the way to counterbalance it. </sarcasm>

This blade if EVIL INCARNATE! It's not some friggin bad ass lookin piece of metal like those ones you can order online; this is the real shit. It's one of the most influential artifacts in all of Warcraft; if you held it expect the rest of the raid to be killed and deleted, followed by anyone in Northrend, followed by atleast half of the Eastern Kingdoms.

No, this should not be lootable and equippable on principle. Have it be a turn-in to that paladin faction in return for the Ashbringer.

Then again I'm sure Blizzard will leave that decision up to the player, and very likely the player will screw it up.

Debatable if it was forged by the Lich King, bit of mystery about who made it, some say it was made by the Legion.

Still minor point, and when you put it like that it shouldn't be obtainable. Unless they were thinking of finishing this WoW with a bang.
