I have a pet cockroach and i noticed some people have pets they named themselves or have pets with higher levels. If i can how do i level up my cockroach and how do i change its name? also if anyone knows where to find any other pets im interested in all of them.

You can not level up or rename non-combative pets. The pets that you are referring to are the hunter pets where you have to feed them and can level them up, and they can name their pet once.

On the subject of the small pets (Which are different from Hunter pets), I've seen snakes in Oggrimar, cockroaches in the Undercity; where else can I get other pets? (The blizzard site mentions Booty Bay for parrots)

Thanks for that info man! I'm ticked that all of the cats are for alliance players though. The only pet I have with my characters is a prairie dog for my warlock, but I'll probably get the cockatiel for my rogue.

Well then I'll say it for the second time in this thread, they are non-combative pets. They do nothing but follow you around. Some players like having one around as a companion (like I do), many others don't seem to. There's no harm of having them in the game.

I've been messing around with my Night Elf Hunter today, got him up to level 12. I really enjoy having a pet to fight with me, but does anyone know if you can teach it anything other than growl?

I believe different hunter pets can do different things, but I'm not sure of the specifics of each pet. I think wolves may only have growl, but I could be wrong.

You've got to put him in the stable, train a different kind of pet (Like a bird or a bear) and then acquire the tactic that one comes with, then you can teach your other pet the tactic.
