Blizzard released many beta keys on friday night, and after asking a guildy who recieved four keys if I may have one, I activated my account and started downloading the 2 gigabyte beta.

If you were like me, you were excited to play, when instantly after opening it, you get an error telling you that Interface.MPQ cannot be found.

Blizzard replaced Interface.MPQ in the recent patch, and FORGOT to tell us. Okay, thats fine. Guess what the fix is? a 3 GB download OR a 5 GB download of patches.

I for one, am severely pissed off, as I have a 5 GB bandwidth limit per month. Has anyone else had their rear end trashed by Blizzard?
If you recieve a key, dont use it.

Do you mean a patch for the beta or the patch that just came out for the released game over a week ago. I've been saying for about 3-4 weeks that UI's and mods would no longer work with the new patch, so it came to no surprise to me or anyone that listened to me. I don't feel screwed over at all so you can e-mail them about your problems, or you can just stop playing the beta. I can wait until the expansion is released, your beta character can't be kept when the beta is over anyway so I'd consider it to be a waste of time to play it.

Yea I got one too. I've been downloading for 4 -5 hours and only 52%.. It better be worth the wait and not screw up.

I got invited to play the beta, but why ruin the surprise. I never bothered, no point really there is still much to do in pre-expansion world of warcraft.

Not for me. I've conquered every mountain, defeated every foe, (except kel) and now its time to explore outland! for the 2 weeks before beta closes...

I got invited a month ago and played for a few days before returning to gear up my real in-game character before BC was released.

I have guildies who are near 70 in it, but the fact remains that when release hits they're going straight to 60, and my gear will rock theirs again.

And we all had to download it. You're screwed if you can't handle more than 5gb a month.

I don't see why you're complaining Northern. I've been grounded off WoW for about 3 months now; I'll be coming back in a weeks time or so, but my point is...

Not everyone gets a beta key. I'd be thrilled, no matter what I had to do to get it to work.

I understand your frustration, but at least you're one of the blessed few to even recieve one.
