re: General Discussion 6 - We're just Knights stuck in a Nightmare

I dunno, the IGN review for it really makes the bad seem to outweigh the good. Sometimes I just think they're too critical and spoil the fun out of it.

Lol, I've learned not to trust IGN anymore when it comes to RPG reviews. They've got something against RPG's. Keep watching RPGamer and wait for their review.

Haha, yeah they seriously have something against RPGs, and especially JRPGs. I think I'll check out RPGamer then. Hopefully their analysis is a bit more fair.

Star Ocean 2 is my favourite game ever, but I only have the first PSX disc. So I'm gonna sell my DS to buy a PSP and the remake.

3 is amazing too; I've never played any game as long as it.

Ive been playing the JRPG Persona 3 FES. It's so funny when it doesn't mean to be that it makes for a good waste of time.

Persona 3 is the original game.
"FES" is short for "Festival", which is an extension to Persona 3 . Great games. If you have a PS2 and love RPG's, definitely get them and Persona 4 while you're at it.

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor is also coming to the DS in June. It's an SRPG with turn-based RPG-style battles. Same series as the Persona games.

I might grab that.

P3FES has a lot of grinding to it, but overall it's really fun so far. Maybe now that I've unlocked tarturus part 2, I'll level faster. I've been watching my friend play (his PS3), and he's at like, part 4, crazy stuff up there.

re: General Discussion 6 - We're just Knights stuck in a Nightmare

What is a good secondary ability set for Cid. My primary is Master Monk, which is pretty good. I was first thinking Gladiator for the Ultima Blade attack, but with its high MP requirement and the complete underdevelopment of Cid's magick stats, that's just pointless. Should I just keep it to Items, or is there something that is worthwhile?

I have a Dragoon/Defender and a Templar/White Monk, so I don't have much of a need of those.

I had him as a cannoneer first, but that doesn't really combine with Master Monk, either you stay out of battle or you go into it, you can't do both.

Any thoughts?

I used a Trickster/Master Monk. The speed combined with great strength, ranged attacks, and powerful close-combat attacks like Pummel is a great combination.

The GD got posts?

Apparently this thread ran into a wall, and fell over unconscious.

I guess that's just what you get for running with your eyes closed.

re: General Discussion 6 - We're just Knights stuck in a Nightmare

Apparently so. Anywhow, I've never used the Trickster job in the game. However, if I do recall from an earlier discussion, one of the best secondary jobs to complement a Master Monk somebody mentioned was a Bishop or whatever it's called. Because the Bishop doesn't have offensive magic and therefore doesn't need to waste time on increasing the magic attack stat. It makes a good support character due to its support magic.

Isn't that what the General Discussion is for?

This might seem selfish, however, it is not intended that way, but instead of spamming up the place with a pointless post about how the thread is doing, you could actually contribute to the discussion at hand.

When you have questions about something, you simply use the forum, whether it was active up to that point or not. That's why it's a forum and not a chatroom.

Well, the bishop does have Water and Aero, but yeah, thanks, apparently I'll have to check it out and see how useful it is.

I was actually thinking of combining a new Cannoneer with Trickster. Because they are both ranged attackers who rely on their strength. Combine that with something like unscarred, and it'll be a real danger on the battlefield. Trickster is one of the few jobs I still have to unlock, so I'm not sure what its abilities are like, but from some first glances, I thought they could be a good compliment to a Cannoneer.

Yeah Lorx, you just got told. ;D

No but Aulis I'm pretty sure this is an off-topic/on-topic thread and all the posts get deleted at 30 pages so theres really nothing off-topic.
