It's exclusive to the Wii. But, you should get one. It's worth it.

The time spent playing MH3 will make the wii worth buying. seriously. id say you can get around 700 hours of gameplay from MH3.
especially being able to play online with your friends and stuff, it will be worth it. -------------------

it's been specualted taht the upcoming Monster Hunter Freedom 3 could possibly be a port of MH Tri, or even a close variations. I would seriously consider it.

quote yoyo123Of course, you're saying that without having played it. You're telling someone to spend hundreds of dollars on a console based entirely on one game, which you've never played. If you're going to buy a Wii, make sure there's something else you want to play on it. I don't think I could find a single Wii game that I'd like to play apart from this, so I wouldn't get one. If there's nothing else you want to play, perhaps get a second-hand Wii, and sell it if and when you're done with MH Tri. -------------------

I bought my PSP exclusively for Freedom, other things came up eventually but Monster Hunter is the sole purpose.
But I'm a fanboy of this series is a very big way. -------------------

I am very much thinking about buying a Wii for the sole purpose of MHT. I am amazed by MHFU. A hand held game better than most console games!
The idea of playing its console predecessor is very exciting. I know without a doubt I will get more than my bang of my buck if I buy a Wii only for MHT.

Being a collector and a perfectionist really motivates many hours of gameplay for a game such as MH. My total time for MHF2 + MHFU is around 700-750 hours. I finished all the quests, now i'm working on getting amazing armors. (two heavenly scales away from making Dragon X armor, chea.) But its only been recent since i started playing deeply again. I took a break from the game.
Other games worth looking to would include: Tatsunoko vs Capcom many mario games resident evil and CoD:MWR (yea i know. preferred on xbox) -------------------

Either way, Monster Hunter is always a portable series at herat, so I'd much prefer it on PSP than PS3.

Er, no, I don't think so. It started on the PS2, and would do a lot better with proper online capabilities. Frontier is pretty much god.

Well it didn't do so well on PS2. You hardly ever hear about it. The game flourished on PSP.

That's probably because they were region locked. It did well on the PS2 in Japan, but the PSP version really took off. I reckon a lot of people from the US and stuff were importing it from Ebay and all that. It's also probably because they put it to the PSP so damn well, better than most PSP games, let alone ports. It is missing stuff from the consoles though.
I wouldn't play it if it weren't on PSP. I agree, it's become so associated with the PSP that the MH title is pretty much more of a PSP thing than a PS2 thing. -------------------

Imports are negligible in actual sales.

There was quite a lot for the MHF games though, and even if it didn't significantly impact sales, it could well have been the reason Capcom decided to send every version of every MHF game to the rest of the world. They may have noticed that half the world wants the Japanese one, so an English one can only be more popular.
