I CAN,T TAKE IT!

Hard way: grab some rockets and an assault rifle, put on an armor and kill everyone around the tank before jacking it. Drive it to the garage before it blows up.

Easy way: after the mission starts, drive over to the donut shop and wait for the convoy to arrive. If you don't know where it is, follow the convoy until they stop and a soldier is ordered to get some donuts. Then quickly get to the driver side of the tank and jack it. Drive it to the garage before it blows up.

Or snatch a car like an Infernus, run down one group of soldiers at top speed, double back to do the same to the other, swipe the tank, and go.

Worked for me on the first try.

In the PC version the tank will stop at the shop right before the police station. A soldier will get out of the tank to get donuts. This is a good time to jack the tank and the garage is only a couple of blocks away.

That's because most people just hit it rambo style. The first time I tried the mission I went straight for the tank in the beginning and of course it was locked so I got my ass handed to me in a matter of seconds. The next time I followed the convey while trying to plan out an attack and then discovered that they actually stop for donuts.

I have recently started a new Vice City, and I have just done this mission. I started by driving at the line of soldiers at top speed from behind, got shot to bits by the guys in the trucks, went down to the sunshine autos to repair my car, and then shot some of them and a couple of trucks with the mini gun (left over from phnom penh 86), fixed my car, got some health, and carried on like that untill there was few enough for me to get out, shoot the guy in the tank and jack it.

I didn't know the stopped either, I kinda wish I had, but the guns blazing way is fun.

What I used to do is, use the bullet, damage, fire and explosion proof admiral you can get after saving diaz, stay in it, and just plough them down, drive by the trucks, and then get out when it's clear and rob the tank. But this time around, after saving Diaz, I ran around the corner and the admiral was not there.

get heaps of granades and drive a fast car past diazes mansion hook a right and near the pay n spray run over the army guys turn round get out neer the stairs and keep throing granades only 1 or 2 dudes get round and blow up the trucks then run off with the tank
