Hey, Elder Scrolls newbie here, I'll be honest. I haven't even played the main game of Oblivion yet, but I'm posting here first because I'm confused about the expansion. This game looks absolutally amazing, and from everyone's comments and the volume of content in the other forum, I'm in for a treat. I have one question though, if anyone knows: is it better to install the expansion along with the main game before you play through it at all the first time? Or does Shivering Isles not affect regular Oblivion at all as far as items you can get and whatnot? Do you have to beat Oblivion before the Shivering Isles content becomes unlocked?

ANyways, im a vet of the elder scrolls series. Ive played Battlespire, Daggerfall, Morrowind and its official expansions of Tribunal and Bloodmoon, and Oblivion. I know loads about the games, more than i probably should, so if you need ANYTHING, ask.
Im moving to this room over my normal "hangout" of the Monster Hunter Freedom 2 board. Youll see me alot now.

got this a few weeks ago but decided i wanted to go back to cyrodil and finish the rest of the main stuff + knights of the nine before i started it. Tis good tho, can you get houses in the isles tho? i need a house!

I only recently found out that it was so big, I thought it was only going to be an island...Heh...25% the size of Cyrodill? I'll go nuts!! I can't wait to see the new stuff that you can get there ^_^ And I might try a new race (if there actually is one) too ^_^
