The game apparently, like The Punisher game, has been edited to cut to flashes, or black and white, or simply cut away during the more gory scenes. (Or perhaps every gore scene, I dunno)

However, there have been reports that people can dump the UMD ISO, edit the ISO contents (illegal), and can rebuild the ISO and load it (custom firmware only) and play it with the gore intact.

Which begs the question; those who purchase the game Manhunt are 'not doing it for the articles', so to speak, so why the Hell would you edit it to 'tame status'? Game developers ARE NOT at fault for stupid parents and retail outlets selling games to minors.

Though I still feel Rockstar has included such explicit, over the top scenes and such in some of their games in the past purely for shock values (yeah, it is tasteless when you get right down to it), and whether or not the uncensored version of Manhunt deserves and AO rating i'm still unsure of. (Ain't played it yet)

I have played the original, and it was pretty ill-hearted in nature, but is it worth having Mr.Govt' fighting to have it slapped with an AO rating? I honestly can't say. I saw Robocop when I was less than 10 years old. Did not have a problem with any of it. But then again, different age, different generation, we weren't as sheltered as we are now. You youngin's out there probably can't comment on the time difference there, but for the oldies out there, what is your opinion on this?

Nah, me, like most of the gaming community, believe little kids shouldn't be exposed to adult games, but those in the category that CAN buy it should be allowed to indulge. If we're restricting adult games from shelves, we might as well remove porn and horror films from all the world, and G rate everything. We all know it's easier to get hardcore porn than it is Manhunt 2...

I've tried it, the hacks works as it should for me. It only took 3 minutes to modify and save the correct files in the ISO, it's fairly simple so I'm sure anyone can do it. Needless to say it makes the game way more interesting and intense.
Also, I'm 15, one of the "youngin's" you speak off. Quite frankly, I don't think much has changed. I've been playing violent games since I was five years old (Doom was quite violent for it's time) and I've been watching 16+ rated movies (the maximum rating here in Holland) since I was eight or so. It never really affected me in any way, as I've always been able to draw a line between imaginary things and real life. It's really down to the person whether they can handle it.

Pretty sure I was under 18 when I played Robocop vs Terminator and Mortal Kombat too. (Genesis titles).

Isn't it funny that politicians are the ones jumping the gun here, when the parents and kids (by majority) have little problem with it?

Uh, I myself think it's wrong for a 10 year old to be playing Manhunt.

Well, it's your parents choice, I guess...If you think you can handle it...

I doubt a 10 year old would even understand the plot of the game, in addition to the fact that he shouldn't be playing it in the first place. However, I believe anyone who can be mature enough to realize that this game is fiction and shouldn't affect your behavior should be able to play it, regardless if they're under 18 or not.
