Censorship - good or bad?

I'm doing a persuasive on censorship for my speech class december third, and originally was going to do it purely on how certain litature books are banned, and how are society encourages us to censor ourselves instead of speak our minds. I caught wind of this game, and how many people where put off by it because of its gore, and how it "needed" to be censored. Anyone have any opinions on this subject? I've played through the first 3 levels and have found the game actually quite enjoyable, despite the lack of a better term being unable to see the artwork I create out of the guys face with a crowbar/etc makes me sad.

It doesn't leave me wanting to go out in real life and do this, I also don't understand why people refer to this as a bad game? It's very fun with the wii controllers (I've literally hit myself with my controlers once at how fun it was -.-) Do people not realize the pure fact that you're being hunted just so douche bag can get his kicks? Does our society really encourage us to bend over and take it in the ass for lack of a better phrase instead of fighting the issue head on?

Also does anyone think that perhaps this is rockstars way of trying to get other companys to expand? To get more indepth and take games places people have been to afraid to go?

re: Censorship - good or bad?

Well, I'm not quite sure what question this post asks, except for the title, but I think the game could do without censors, on my PS2 rental of this, I removed the censors (discussion of how I did so is not permitted on Neo) and it made the game more enjoyable, It's not quite because I am a violent person, but the brutality demonstrated in the games executions gave intensity to the game. However watching the act didn't make me want to go out and start shooting people and executing them, so my opinion is that censorship isn't necessary unless the person viewing the content is naturally violent or aggressive.

re: Censorship - good or bad?

Exactly, did you use a codebreaker? Or the actual..well nm. I just heard you can use a codebreaker (same as the gameshark right?) and yea it does add to the intensitiy, especially on the wii. The toilet execution is just beautifuly done with the wii controls. I find it funny how many people give this game a bad rep despite how fun and how good of a plot story it has. Is it really gory? yea. Too gory? I've seen worse. Hell one could consider FD2 more gorey then what they did to this game.
