quote Mycongranted but they seemed to have more then one player (Rooney) who looked dangerous. Chelsea didnt play all that well either but they still managed the win and thats all that matters This new generation of United Fans must be accepting mediocrity if they praise an average United performance resulting in a loss to a team who were far from their best.

A fair result would have been a point. Chelsea shaded the 1st half but I though Utd shaded the 2nd. The free kick they scored from should never have been a free kick, nothing wrong with Terry's actual header/shoulder that was fine but Wes Brown was hauled down and Drogba was inches away from connecting while in an offside position, should of been ruled out in my opinion. Atkinson should really take a look at himself, he was poor today, gave some dodgy decisions both ways.

quote luisgarciaisgodI don't mean it in a petty way but then how can you praise your team then at all in the past number of years? Your logic is all wrong. United beat Arsenal earlier on in the season, playing nowhere near their best. Does that make Arsenal mediocre. No. Did it make it a bad performance from them? No. Who were those players in the game that looked dangerous? Drogba didn't anyway. quote DeNiroNo. ------------------- Is maith liom Gaeilge.

I can't wait for that game. Shame about my mates who are already banging on about them wanting me to get them tickets. Free kick for Chelsea at the end there? Maybe. Fletcher did go over the ball. Cashley may have acted like a pussy, but DF didn't get the ball totally. Those saying that he did get the ball are either United fans, or just being generous. He should learn to tackle without trying to injure his opponents. -------------------

If we can get a decent result at the Emirates then we'll be in a really strong position come Christmas Day, hopefully we don't drop silly points now against the 'lesser' teams.

New rules added to the referee's handbook; kicking and elbowing is now an acceptable means of winning possession from a United player, United players headbutting opposition players in the elbow is unacceptable, the advantage rule no longer applies to United, if a defender can't stop a United cross with his head then it's perfectly reasonable for him to use his arms, if a forward can't stop a United defender by legal means it's perfectly reasonable to pull him down.
If it wasn't for those last minute additions I'd say the ref's performance was f*cking atrocious, but of course it wouldn't be looked into anyway. Its United after all. Fair game for opposition players to hack seven sh*ts into. At least Evans wasn't sent off for that gloriously horrid challenge on Drogba, I guess that's some trace of parity. God I love that Irish lad. Moving on I felt we had the better of the play. Anderson did a superb job pushing up-field and restricting Essien's contribution, likewise Valencia on Ashley Cole, our defence as a whole performs much better with adequate screening from the midfield. Between Brown and Evans Drogba was pretty much silenced and Anelka was forced into midfield. Evra was more or less 'meh' with a few okay moments, Giggs had a shocker and couldn't give the ball away enough, Obertan offered us a much more direct threat from the left flank. Like I said, I felt we were the better side but Chelsea took their chance so fair play to them. Still, our performance today helped alleviate some of the fears I had for our midfield going up against the better sides in Europe. Lets hope we see more of the same in our other big games. ------------------- Young, black, handsome, just a touch of pretention...
