quote SecretLegendAs much as that is an over-used cliche, it does seem to hold true. They'll need more than just that annoying knack of getting points they don't deserve to win the title though. Man Utd should have dropped points against Arsenal and Man City, and should have lost to Sunderland. Added to that they've lost to Liverpool and Burnley, plus some unconvincing displays in the League when they still won, and looking quite dodgy against CSKA Moscow in midweek. Man Utd have only actually wond convincingly a handful of times, mostly against Wigan and Totteham I'd say. They definitely don't look as strong as before, I'm just wondering when or if this will actually be accompanied by them sliding down the table a little bit and staying there. All the indicators favour Chelsea for tomorrow, but that just means we'd be even more stupid to rule out Man Utd. ------------------- ![]() Join the Football Forum online FIFA Club! (360)

Hating everyone tipping us to win easily tomorrow, like I said it's all set-up for a United win imo.
Also have to laugh at "United always get something from these games", they've lost to Liverpool the last three times, lost at the Emirates last season and drew at the Bridge. I'm not saying they're useless in these games but they don't have "a knack" imo, they're just like other teams in teh big 4 when it comes to these games, you really never know who's gonna win. ------------------- Ron says: I just drink to a point where everything makes me laugh Ron says: once something stops being funny, I drink more

Any suggestion of United getting rid of Anderson now is well.. ridiculous in all honesty. He's playing like he's had a kick up the arse this season, and in his last few games he's been MOTM, at both Burnley and at home to Blackburn, as well as some other very good performances this month. The guy is only 21 and he seems to be improving this season, he had a great first season at the club but seemed to be hampered with injury last term before coming back into the team in a more defensive role and shining on the back end of the season. To be honest I had my doubts over Anderson at the start of the season in terms of fitness and attitude with all these stories of the possible Inter move and the Fergie bust-up and Fergies' supposed issues with Anderson's fitness. Immendiately after these Anderson volunteered to play for the reserves to improve his fitness, a game which he scored in, from this game he went away to Spurs and scored again as well as being one of the best players on the pitch. I have every faith that he'll be a top, top player in a few years time.
quote RobtheGoonerTo be honest this 'should have' talk pisses the hell out of me in football. Using this logic you could make a very strong argument that United should have beaten Burnley, considering they missed multiple chances which included a penalty, but football doesn't work like that. Taking the Arsenal game as an example, United defended everything Arsenal threw at them, bar Arshavin's great strike. United went forward very little but when they did Arsenal completely imploded, just like they did at City, just like they did at Upton Park, just like they will no doubt do many times this season. United didn't even have to get remotely close to second gear to beat an Arsenal team that were flying and had a 100% league record up to that point yes, but that doesn't mean they deserved to drop points. thank you for reading, ive been johnny boi and carragher's been awesome.

quote Irish GamerI was more going on this season. They beat Arsenal and Man City when Arsenal could of easily beat them. I have a feeling they will win yet it will be Chelsea who will dominate the game.

Don't get me wrong Caddy I actually think United will win today, I just found the logic a bit off considering United's record against the big 4 in the last season or so. Arsenal and City were different things imo, like Johnny said this is an Arsenal side that are immensely talented but if any team bothers to attack them they will score, and City are well... unpredictable. That was just a crazy game haha.
I get your point but I just find this logic that United have a knack for these games annoying considering what has happened in United's games v other top 4 sides in the last season or so. Anything can happen is basically what I'm saying. Although I do think it's all set up for a United victory tbh. ------------------- Ron says: I just drink to a point where everything makes me laugh Ron says: once something stops being funny, I drink more

Drogba could have a big say in the match today. UTD's defence hasn't looked good at all and Drogba is (for lack of better description) a very big pain.
Also agree with Gary, Chelsea will out play them in midfield. Really Chelsea should win this on form but UTD have annoyed me all season by winning and drawing games when it seemed impossible so im not sure how this will end.

quote RobtheGoonerYes, I take your point that we need to improve to win this match and the league but if we can keep the annoying knack of getting points where we really don't deserve them thats great news. Hopefully we go out today really fired up like we were against City (closing them down not giving them any room) then I think we can hold on and nick a goal out of nothing. ------------------- ![]() | Football Manager Handheld

It's all well and good knicking points against the Sunderland's and Bolton's at Old Trafford, possibly City too, even Birmingham tbh. But doing it against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, even if we turn up I don't see us getting anything.

It looking forward to the game, we seem to have the ability to play better when were in a patch of bad form personally I would play Evans rather than Ferdinand today; one of Evans top qualities are his ability to NOT make mistakes which frankly is vital. Last time Evans played against Chelsea he was amongst the best players on the pitch and had Drogba in his pocket. Today I'd reckon -
Van Der Sar O'Shea Vida Evans Evra Fletcher Valencia Carrick Anderson Giggs Rooney

No way do I want us to play 4-5-1, especially with Rooney upfront alone, he can't play that role, if we have Berba upfront alone and Rooney on the left it doesn't work either
VDS O'Shea Evans Vidic Evra Valencia Fletcher Anderson Giggs Berbatov Rooney Scholes & Carrick didn't work against Liverpool, Fletch is going to be the main man and Anderson can hopefully use his pace and physical ability to get in amongst Deco, Ballack or whoever plays. ------------------- ![]() D A U G H T R Y

The only thing I am sure of in this match is there will be undoubtedly a good few pages in this thread debating about the inevitable decision(s) that will occur in this match.
