re: Robert Enke Commits Suicide

Completely shocked, surely it has to be something to do with the daughter?

RIP

re: Robert Enke Commits Suicide

I am shocked... completely and utterly speechless.

RIP, a truly top footballer, probably the best goalkeeper in Germany. A huge blow for football to lose such a talented individual. But, more importantly, a brave man that had suffered more than his fair share of hardship. A truly sad story, he will be sorely missed.

To quote what I said in the FMS;

Terrible news, couldn't believe it when it came up on SSN earlier. Depression is a shocking thing, and 32 is no age to die.

RIP x

This is *bleep*ed up. The BBC headline says dies in "suicide", note the inverted commas, are they suggesting there's more to it?

;checked and it seems not, still seems strange terminology. But man oh man.

No sympathy for the man, suicide is an incredibly selfish act.

Yes, I know he lost his daughter, but how must his wife feel right now?

You're an idiot.

I will admit that I thought suicide was a selfish act, but until you experience someone suffering from depression or something similar first hand then you can't understand what they're going through.

Someone with suicidal tendencies/depression sees things completely differently to you and I. They genuinely think they're doing everyone they know a favour by taking their life.

What you said was incredibly naive. I'll leave it there.

I don't think it was, I have a friend who is a train driver and gone through the torment of having someone suicide via his train. He hasn't been the same since and lives with it every day. I have sympathy for his family and the driver but very little for him.

I can't be arsed to go into it this late at night, but as someone who's had a close, close relative suffer from depression in the past it's a shocking condition to deal with.

Yes, it's horrible when people jump in front of trains and it would be far "better" if they took their own lives without disrupting others.

But they *genuinely* do not see it like that, like you and I would see it.

I am a City fan, I know all about depression.

Seriously though, I understand your point.

Shocking news when anyone dies, let alone Germany's number one keeper.

I hope PES remove him to show respect. They still had Jarque in the game.
