I haven't fully tested the patch on WinXP, but it SHOULD work on Win2K SP2 and SP3, according to Microsoft's ACT tool. If you can't get my patch to work in Win2K, you might have to download the ACT tool and follow the directions I've posted at the beginning of this thread. It's possible that some newer hardware doesn't like the game, though. No matter how hard I try, I can't get Dungoen Keeper working on my machine in Direct3D mode.

Hi Waccoon,
Like everyone I had the problem to use NFS 5 with Win2000. I first tried to delete gimme.dll, but as you know it is not a solution. Then I tried to modifiy the size of my swap files on my hard drives, but none of the combinations i tried worked... I also installed the 3.5 patch, without success. Finally I tried your patch with ACT, but the problem remains the same : The programs crashes to desktop after about 3 minutes of game... Sometimes less sometimes a bit more, but i can't even manage to finish a race... After all that, could you still help ?

Hey, thanks for the patch Waccoon. PU ran in slow motion on my WinXP machine (in Win98 compatibility mode) before I tried your patch. It seems to run at the proper speed now thanks to you.
The only problems that remain are the blurry textures and slightly corrupted font in the menus (GeForce 3 Ti200). The blurry textures remind me of how PU used to look back when I ran it in Direct3D mode on my old Voodoo 2's. I later found out how to trick the game into running in Glide mode and it looked much better. Then I upgraded to a GeForce DDR and it looked even better still. So I guess the blurry textures I'm seeing now are a result of the game not properly detecting my video card. I hope someone finds a solution to this problem. Thanks again!

Regarding the blurry textures,
The file fe_out.txt seems to contain the texture detail settings, but editing this file doesn't seem to work. I changed the texture resolution setting from 1 to 3 (max res), but the new setting won't stick. The game just keeps reseting it back to 1.

THANK YOU SOOO MUCH. After countless reinstalls, and consulting my video card drivers, I had given up on PU. You got it right. fixed the problem. Congrats. Good work. SOOOO HAPPY. I get to crash porsche's, not programs now.

Every time I create a LAN or peer to peer IP game, people can't see me, or when I try to join a game, I can't see games created. If someone knows how to fix this problem, please let me know it. Thank you very much.
