ok, tried it again with "manual" update to v3.5 (used the update from Waccoon's webspace) and Waccoon's patch.

I've done a bit of testing on XP with various makes of PC and managed to get most of the freezing/ crashing back to desktop that people have described. It all seems to relate to the version of the Porsche.exe you run. Different ones work with different hardware. If you have a problem try a different hacked.exe. I've found about 5 different ones so far. All Hardware has worked with waccoons patch.

After more testing found that Waccoons patch can get Porsche working if it freezes at splash screen, or crashes back to desktop. Looks like it is capable of fixing nearly all ailments.

Assuming the music volume is set properly, check the playlist. If the playlist somehow is empty, no music tracks will play in the game. It's also possible that your computer is running out of memory and the sound system is not working properly. Try reducing your sound quality.
