If you skim through the list of N64 games, you'll notice that Donkey Kong 64 isn't on there. It's a classic. I'm surprised it wasn't one of the first games released for virtual console. Can anyone give me a compelling reason as to why Nintendo hasn't recreated this yet?

Donkey knog 64 was not made by nintendo. It was made by Rare, another developer that was bought out by nintendo at the time. Sometime in early 2000, microsoft bought Rare, so now Rare can only make games for the Xbox consoles. Releasing DK64 on VC would violate this contract.

Trust me, I wasnt the game as well. But unless Rare becomes 3rd party, I doubt this will happen anytime soon.

Problem: Nintendo have the license to every DK games, thus allowing them to put DK 64 on virtual console at their own will.

Besides, your suggesting Donkey Kong is now part of Microsoft with that message.

I don't know where, but Rare did say that Nintendo could release thier games on the Virtual Console.

Nintendo's decision to release relatively no-name games every week doesn't seem to follow any logical reasoning. There's a million games that people want for VC that they haven't released yet, and a tonne of games that they've released that no one wants.

Well donkey kong 64 is a good game. You know when you reach a certain part of the game you can play Donkey kong from the NES version I think.

DK64 is good because its like two games in one.

My interest for the VC is relatively nil BECAUSE they rarely release any interesting games. There HAS to be enough must-have titles to release atleast 1 a week.

I know! They should've just realesed all the well worth games at the start because, well they're already made. but I guess Majora's Mask and Yoshi's Island won't come out for awhile because of the fact that Nintendo what to make the Virtual COnsol last longer. It's stupid.

Actually, economically it isn't stupid. It's a gold mine. People are buying the less popular games merely because they're available. That being said, Nintendo's making good money off of these shit games. Granted they'll make more releasing all of the good games we want... but... why try to quickly milk it for all it's worth?
