He got completely screwed in Orochi!!!! First, I dunno if I'm getting Shadow Harness or not and second they made his Horse Musou a moving musou like everyone elses!!!

*bleep* man. Though, I'm not gonna even use horses in Orochi.

Ma Chao's horse combo was the best in DW! I hardly use horses, so it's not a big loss for me. Nene ftw!

Just to come back to Ma Chao's horse attacks, they seem to have increased dramaticly. On a Normal mode 3 start lvl 1 Ma Chao, I killed an officer in 5 strikes

And no, I didn't had Cavalier equipped.

1. No Shadow Harness
2. His musou isn't stationary any more

those are HUGE disadvantages. Plus, Ma Chao has been able to kill generals in one combo before, but i mean i always have all the rigth equipment on.

Is one of the stipulations that no peasant can die? Does one have to follow him all the way out the door of the level? I've looked over BK's unlock thread and followed his advice of knocking out gates before approaching him and then squashing pursuers and creeping through Sima Yi's maze but he Ma Chao never agrees to join me.

Weird how these low star levels have hidden dangers. Left alone, Dong Zhuo could kill Ma Chao very quickly. And in the resuce Yue Ying level, leaving her with Pang De will just drain the life out of her.

Maybe I should stop treating it like a training level for the lower-class warriors and unleash the powerhouses like Nobunaga on it...

Yeah, none of the peseants can die. That's the tricky part and why I suggest getting rid of those gates. It was basically luck I guess for me that Ma Chao held off Dong Zhuo while I dealt with Ieyasu. He had a couple of generic officers help.

But once you get all the peasants passed that point the ssm is that difficult and they can take care of themselves once you beat the gate captains.

Also, just in case there's some stupid stipulation like "Nobunaga has to meet him" or some crap like that, the team I used was Guan Ping, Nobunaga, and Hiedyoshi.

SXH, you must have Ma Chao lead the Peasants out of the gate, at least, I think so. First time, same thing happened to me and it didn't work. Second time, I made sure he went with me to the gate, and I unlocked him. Make sure to defeat every enemy before proceding to the maze, that way Ma Chao will follow you. That means, every gate and every private, because you know what the bots of generals are like, they have to go for every single person.

edit: Beaten I didn't actually have any trouble keeping the peasants alive. My team were a high level, so I sliced through everyone in only a few strikes, including the officers.

I killed all the minor gen. first the whent form there.

Unlocking him is so easy... Just a mitsunari rapage, and you're done
