People Cheating : WTF is the point?

Has anyone else noticed people that seem to build about 5x faster than everyone else in online games? I can only assume they're using some kind of cheat plugin that builds automatically and increases their capability. This RUINS the game. They don't really win because they're cheaters (although they don't seem to think that way; they think they win no matter how much they cheat) and everyone else has a miserable time. So why do they do it? You might as well take the multiplayer functionality of most games and not include it because it's not worth using if people are going to cheat and with most games there doesn't seem to be a way to keep the cheating SOBs out. Is the only way to even the playing field for EVERYONE to cheat? The winner is the biggest cheater??? What a bunch of crap.

re: People Cheating : WTF is the point?

i agree, cheating on a game like this is just a sign that the person can think for five minutes without needing a good cheat to get through the mission, i mean noone needs to know where everyone is, just go through the mission and find out!

Yes actually, you can cheat online. You can enable cheat codes and there are hackers out there who can manipulate the internal structures of online play.

I cheat in, and only in, standard games and custom (self made) games.

re: People Cheating : WTF is the point?

Most people don't cheat, and when the gaming begins, for the most, there is not cheating at all. However, as time goes on, pathetic losers chose to cheat online, and because of them, the game goes down hill. Things quickly change. Even one cheater can ruin a game enough to stop people from wanting to come on, one of the reasons why WoW has been so successful is that, for the most part, they have stopped this from happening.

re: People Cheating : WTF is the point?

There's cheating, and then there are hackers who actively alter the game in their favour. Those are the people who will sit there and win by producing units at an impossible rate, sitting there with impossible amounts of gold and such or making their characters forty times as strong as other people's, without using the ready-made cheats.
