LittleBigPlanet - Forum Rules ![]() Based on the GTA:SA Rules Template Created by Scarchelli and reworked by Daisy ( & Gothic Girl ) for use in subsequent forums. All of the following rules and guidelines are to be followed and abided by, by each and every member and guest that chooses to visit this forum. Cruxis Mana is moderating the forum. If you have a question pertaining to one of the rules, feel free to PM him. Rules • Spamming – There will be no tolerance for spamming in this forum. This also includes idle chit-chat. (The general discussion is for that ^_~) If someone chooses to spam and a super or section moderator are not around, use the report feature to the best of your abilities. Please do not abuse the report feature. • One Liners - Technically this is also spamming. Do not post one-liners or one-words. It does not add anything to a conversation. They are considered to be spam. • Off Topic Posts - If you post something which has no relevance to the thread's original purpose or question, your post will be deleted without prior warning. If someone posts something off topic, there is no need to flame them. Simply redirect them to the proper thread and/or forum. • Duplicate Threads – Please check the Thread Index as well as taking a look through the forum, before posting new messages. • Flaming – Types of flaming include, but are not limited to swearing, name calling, impoliteness, racism, sexism, charged outbursts, and any behavior that can be interpreted as hostile to another member of the forum. If someone asks a question, there is no need to slam them if it is a question that is asked a lot. Politely answer them and remind them to check around the forum (or thread index) next time. • Memberating – Memberating is the act of of non moderators trying to take charge of a forum; whether it is by insisting on banning someone, or by requesting thread closures. Please do not act as a moderator and instead use the reoprt function if you see trouble. Let the mods handle it, that's why we are here! Politely linking people to the correct thread/forum is fine, but just remember we were all new here once, so please treat everyone with respect. • Advertising – Advertising is not allowed on Neoseeker; quote Forum Wide RulesPosts advertising anything outside of Neoseeker will be closed/deleted on site. If you want to advertise another site, then feel free to do so in your Profile or Signature. • Titling Threads – This is more of a proper etiquette lesson than a rule. Try not to have your thread titles be a sentence or two long. Make them short, indicating what the thread's main idea is. If you title your thread with a hard to understand title, please be aware that a moderator might edit your title. • Use Proper Grammar - This is more of a proper etiquette lesson than a rule. The forums are not like chat rooms, so use proper grammar here. Punctuation, Capital Letters, Full Stops, etc. (Remember this stuff from Elementary School?) And please don't abbreviate words or use numbers instead of letters. It looks ridiculous and people tend to ignore posts like that. • Circumvention of a Ban – If you are banned from this forum, in no way are you allowed to make another account with the intent to bypass the original ban. All of your known accounts will be permanently banned from all forums on the website. If you think you can get away with it, you are wrong. Administration knows who you are, and they will go to every extent to keep you out of the forums if you have been banned. If you continually insist on bypassing the bans, your internet service provider will be contacted and you could be left with no internet. • Spoiler Policy - This is how it works; The code to do that is this;
Now, if your entire thread is a spoiler, please make use of the thread's title to warn people or ask the moderators to put "SPOILERS!" in the threads subtitle, warning other members before they even enter you thread. Example; Thread Title: [SPOILER]What Should I Do After the third cut-scene? Spoiling the game for others is just really rude, and if you insist on constantly posting spoilers without warning, you will receive a ban. This is not difficult - and it is only done to try to make sure that everyone that visits this forum enjoys the game equally without some big mouth ruining it for them before they can finish the game. If you are unclear on how to mark a spoiler, what constitues a spoiler, or anything else regarding this policy, please post it in the General Discussion asking for help prior to posting, or PM one of the Mods. Disciplinary Actions Members who break any of the above rules or any of the Forum Wide Rules will be dealt with on a case per case system. Obviously, repeat offenders will be handled more harshly. No one breaking any of the rules will be overlooked in any circumstance. Ending Note If you have any questions, feel free to contact Cruxis Mana. He will do his best to help and make the forum a fun community. The rules and Forum Wide Rules may be updated without warning. It is your job to stay up-to-date with both rule sets. Other Useful Links • Forum Wide Rules of Conduct, Etiquette and Acceptable Behavior - Again, this forum follows these rules as well as the Forum Wide rule set. • Forum Wide FAQ - This useful FAQ is a must read for new members. • Topic Listings - Any important/popular threads will be listed here. Hello and welcome to the Official LittleBigPlanet FAQ Thread - The thread to find answers for all LittleBigPlanet related questions. Silver Mirror has tried to answer all the most common misconceptions and confusing areas surronding the game, but if you still have questions after reading through this feel free to PM me/him.
Q: So what is LittleBigPlanet? A: LittleBigPlanet is a videogame coming exclusively to the Playstation 3. The game revolves around 3 key concepts. Create, Play, Share. You can create your own levels or modify existing ones, play them or ones already contained on the disk, and share levels either with local friends or over the internet, and in turn play other people’s levels. There can be any number of goals in the levels, from simply getting to the other side of the level (with a time limit or just negotiating enemies and traps) to completing certain tasks like seeing who can stay alive the longest in a small area. The gameplay is touted as cooperative competitive. Meaning you work with your teammates to bypass puzzles and obstacles but at the same time you’re trying to get to the objective first or to earn points. Q: So what genre is LittleBigPlanet? What is the gameplay like? A: It is hard to define LittleBigPlanet to one specific genre. I suppose technically it is a semi 2D side scrolling Platformer with a level editor. But really it is a mixture of genres. A platformer, puzzler, action game and even a racer if you so desire. The Gameplay is very simplistic with Sackboys able to move backwards and forwards, jump, pull and push objects and that is about it. Gameplay is separated into two modes, Create mode where you can alter the environment around you, and Play mode. Which like the name implies is when move through the level as intended. Q: You can create things? So it’s very customisable? A: That is the big selling point of LittleBigPlanet. You can create your own levels, modify others and even equip and dress your Avatar, a Sackboy or Sackgirl with hundreds of different items and textures. Here are a pair of trailers showing just how much you can change the world around you. As well as your Sackboy. Q: What kind of multiplayer elements does it have? A: LittleBigPlanet is very multiplayer orientated. You can still play on your own but the fun multiplies with each additional player. Up to four people can pop in and out of the game online or offline, unfortunately you cannot make a level with your friends online yet (though that is rumoured to be coming in a free update) but you can offline. The gameplay as mentioned before is cooperative competitive. So while you’ll help each other progress through the levels, you’ll also be competing to get the fastest time or the most points. Q: This seems to be very multiplayer orientated. Is there a singeplayer mode? Or a story for that matter? A: Despite there being a lot of fun to be had with other people if your lacking internet or controllers you can easily have a lot of fun by yourself. There are over 50 pre-made levels created by the developers to ship with the game, as well as endless potential to make levels for your own personal amusement. There will be a story in the levels shipped with the game, but it won’t be a major focus. Q: Creating levels looks pretty tough. I’m not too good with mods or anything... A: Media Molecule, the company behind the game have emphasised multiple times that they are trying to make the level editor as easy to use as possible. The game being intended to appeal to both casual and hardcore gamers. And even if you find creating levels to difficult or time consuming then it is entirely your choice to do so. You can enjoy the game without ever making a level of your own. And to prove the easy nature of crafting your own levels. Four people made this creation in just a single day; Q: Does this game contain trophies and custom soundtracks? A: As with most other high profile PS3 games LittleBigPlanet has trophies. Rewards for performing certain tasks within the game. However custom soundtracks are not present, the feature to play your own music in the game withheld. However you can add sound effects and notes to objects within the game, potentially recreating your favourite songs if you feel inclined, as is shown in this example below with a remake of the Final Fantasy X theme; Q: I’ve seen lots of special character outfits which I've seen don’t come with the game. How did people get them? A: There are few different outfits were obtainable through not so normal means. In the US God of War's Kratos, Medusa and Minotaur Sackboy costumes along with a map pack came as a bonus when you pre-order the game a GameStop store. A similar system was in place at Bestbuy which would earn you the Nariko costume from Heavenly Sword. In Canada you earned the Kratos costume on its own by pre-ordering from EB or Gamestop stores. The Nariko costume came by preodering at the Future shop. In Europe the Nariko costume was obtainable by pre-ordering the game at Play.com whilst the Kratos costume came bundled with Septembers Issue of Play magazine. Sony and Media Molecule have now agreed to post new costumes, some free and some available for purchase, on the Playstation Store every week. Here is a trailer detailing the Kratos pack available from Gamestop; Q: Why was LittleBigPlanet delayed? On the 17 October 2008, a Playstation community member reported that the lyrics to one of the songs in the game included passages from Qur'an and could therefore be offensive to Muslims. Sony responded by announcing a worldwide recall of the game as well as a worldwide delay. The game was also patched to remove the song from the versions of the game that had been released early. Q: When was LittleBigPlanet released? A: LittleBigPlanet was released in North America from October 27 onwards. It was released on November 3 in Europe, whilst the UK version was released on November 5. [size=1][color=#666666]This message was edited by Cruxis Mana on Jan 23 2009. | ||
