If you just got it, then your going to have some trouble, and should start out with something simpler, as many things need to be learn together to make certain things. First you need to learn how to use rockets, and grab switches, then you need to learn the way of the bolt and how to make wheels. Then you just need to know your materials, and a good idea and your set.
Rockets- If you followed the tutorials, then you'll know what these are and how they work. Put one or two or three at the very back of your rolling coaster model that you made. Set them to off so the coaster won't run off on you. Grab switches- Again, it was mostly explained in the tutorials, but put one of these on a piece of sponge. preferably the handlebars in one of the coaster seats. Set it to ON. And then connect it to the rockets at the back. If you want multiple seats to be the ignition of your coaster, then do the same thing, but only connect the first grab switch to one of the rockets, and then the next two to one of their own rockets. Bolts and Wheels- These are very simple pieces of engineering. Take the material rubber from the material page, and pick the circle shape. Make the wheel only one dimension, not 2D, and then put something like wood behind it in 2D. Make sure the game is on pause so nothing falls apart. Then once the two materials are by each other like the way I've described, use a bolt to connect the two right through the exact center of the wheel. Then let go. The thing is now the most simple wheel you can make. And with the thing behind it, you can connect that to anything, and form it any way you want to make a simple car on wheels. Connect a few of these wheels to the top of the coaster but not touching it so they can still turn. Finishing- Now with the hard stuff together, you just have to make the track to fit in between the area between the wheels and the coaster, so when you hit the ignition, it pushes the coaster, moving the wheels, supporting the coaster off the ground, and bringing it anywhere you want, in loads of twists and turns. Finally just make everything picture perfect with lights and stickers and clean to make it look cool and you've got yourself a roller coaster. ------------------- ![]() KINGDOM HEARTS---Play it---Or Die

Making a rollercoaster will probably be easier if you wrap the car around the track, sorta like a monorail.
That way the car wouldn't fly off if you wanna go upside down or what not - unless that's what you want. lmao. ------------------- ![]()

Wouldn't the Magnetic Switch make it easier as it keeps it on the track?

It is
I looked up this random website and came up with this: By this time tomorrow, look for a level by mindphaser74 called "ROCKET STAR". You picked a great time to be asking about rollercoasters in LBP. Tonight I finished the fine-tuning on what will easily be the best coaster level in LBP (though I've probably not played them all). I won't give away all the details, but I will tell you that the prize bubbles contain track pieces that everyone can use to simply and easily make their own coasters. The track pieces include loops, switchbacks, intersections, straight and diagonal pieces, corners and u-turns, and of course, train-stations. You can make very large tracks using these pieces, and they look great. At each train station, you can call up either a single car, 2 car, 3 car, or 4 car train (each sackperson grabs a hold of his/her own car on the train). The cars are each propelled by their own rocket and cars are attached to one another via string (elastic may have worked good too, but string worked fine so I didn't try) --------------- This will be ALOT of help if I manage to find the level.I may post up a Video if I get the time. ------------------- ![]() PSN:Bazbro, Add me!!!

Nope the magnetic switch isn't 'magnetic', its just that when the key is close enough to the switch the switch will work, that's all.

Yeah it's really misleading. Just start tinkering around with everything till you know it all, as you'll have a hard time doing the coaster without all the knowledge I mentioned above.

quote BazBroYour level won't be very original if you just use someone else's pieces. I'd suggest looking at how his (or indeed anyone's) roller coaster works, and then do your own version. ![]() -------------------
