Realistic Trade & Neutral Setting

I would like to see a trade a lot like the Age of Empires games where you can send your traders to allied people and you both get gold for trading. You could have trading ships, trading people on foot, space ships, cargo planes, caravans, and cargo trucks etc.

I would also like to see tributes actually travel to other people via one of your trading units. That way you'd have to protect them from enemies (if they destroy it they get the tribute), atleast until the Atomic Age Modern when you can send your tributes electronically since its not backed by gold anymore.

And your tributes will show up in the back of the caravan or truck depending on what it is, like lumber if its lumber or a mix if its a mix.

There should be a neutral setting like the Ages series, so that you can not automatically attack eachother, trade with eachother, etc., but not have to share line of site. I would also like a multiplayer setting where the game doesn't end if everyone allies.

Thoughts?

re: Realistic Trade & Neutral Setting

Just on the trade, I definitely agree. Coming into Empire Earth II I was hoping for a far more complex system for trading then was actually presenting, and I have to admit I was a little disappointed in that. A number of layers for an economy would be wonderful to have, or at least options where if you spend enough time on your economy and trade you have a good chance to come out ahead. In the first Age of Empires I usually left docks standing just so I could trade with them.

You don't care for the neutral?

We're never going to have much discussion on this board... we all agree on everything
