Specific save points are located around the map.
You'll find rooms with a giant red/gold diamond floating in the centre. Stand underneath it and push up on the movement stick to save the game. This is also your main way of regaining health. Yeah, when I first played this, I thought Hearts were health. Honestly, how could I think that  ------------------- They've done it. It's dead.
