An interesting thought I had, if this game was to be spilt across two discs, it's not often done for technical and convenience reasons, but I think now that the console is so far into it's life, I think it's just about time to admit defeat of trying to fit a good wrestling game onto one disc. The split could be done in many ways, perhaps the create-a features could be revamped, with new modes (create-an-arena, create-a-move, create-a-taunt) all on one disc, allowing for more creating possibilities, if that's where they want to head with this game. Or if they want 24/7 mode to really shine, maybe they could dedicate an entire disc to that, and have the rest on another disc. Data would of course be linked, so you can load up saves from other discs, and your stats would be from matches on both discs. What do you say? For it? Against it? Why? Why not? How would you split it?
I wouldn't mind 2 discs if it means a much better game. This would also allow the next-gen versions to be more fully featured, and to of course still be on one disc, this suggestion is only for the PS2 version. This message was edited by HBK619 on May 30 2008. -------------------

I can't disagree with that, but that would be a pain in the long run though, wanting to just have a play on each disk's feature, having to switch disks, wait for it to reload, and all the rest.. It's a good idea, but I can't say I think it's worth it in the long run..

quote zhaoyun770That's the only real downside to it, but I'm hoping they would be able to split it up in a way that groups similar things together, such as all the create modes. It would get annoying, but it's no different from if you were playing SD! Vs. RAW 2008 and then wanted to play an older Smackdown! game, you would need to switch discs, this is a bit like that in a way. With less on each disc, initial loading up time of the game could probably be reduced too, which would help. -------------------

Wasn't this BILFY's idea? If not I'm mistaken then.
Anyway this would be a good suggestion for the PS2 just to enhance the creation modes. -------------------

Definitely a good idea. Perhaps all the create modes could be on one disc, and then exhibition matches and 24/7 modes could be on the other? Come to think of it, it would make alot more sense if the second disc was the one with all the different create modes on it. It would be awesome if loading times were reduced if we had two discs, although I doubt THQ are going to split the game onto different discs. Sadly.

This idea has been said a few times before and like all the other times it's been brought up I'm all for it. Having the SmackDown! series on 2 discs would allow more room for more fun to take place. I would split it up by having WWE 24/7 mode and exhibition on the first disc and all the create a modes on the second disc.

I'd much rather spend more money for a quality product than plank down 50 bucks (which is still expensive, mind you) for a watered down game that doesn't truly succeed its predecessors, ala JBI or SvR. I simply don't know if players are willing to switch discs multiple times to play multiple modes. In fact, how many successful games have their been to utilize multi-disk use?

Perhaps in a 'Special Edition' version or something, but I would rather not see the multi-disc. As said before, it would be a pain to switch and wait to load all the time. Also, losing one of the discs would mean you lose out on half the game, but the same can be said about losing the whole disc. It's a good idea, but I don't think we'll ever see it in the Smackdown series.

quote BriThat's the thing, 2 discs have never really been needed; until now. The Smackdown! series is slowing down to a crawl. It will pick back up when it doesn't have to worry about what the PS2 can handle, and when it can focus on optimising the game for Xbox 360 and PS3. For the last PS2 game, I think it should really go out with a bang. Sure, it sounds tedious, but for how much better the game would be, I don't think it would bother me. Remember, loading times would also be less as there would be less to load on each disc. -------------------

quote Bri 1, Metal Gear Solid Subsistence. If they can make it anything like that game, then I see why not splitting it in to two discs. ------------------- I want to obtain citizenship so I no longer have to lurk in the shadows of fear and restrictions.

Yeah, I think that this would be a good idea to have SmackDown vs Raw 2008 multi disc although I don't see it happening.
