I've been thinking of getting this game, but I just wanted to know some things about it first. First, is the GH guitar compatible with it, and does the guitar role in this game play the same as GH? Second, how do the drums and singing part work? And how much do the drums/mic cost?

1. The Guitar Hero guitar is compatible with Rock Band but Rock Band's Fender Stratocaster is not compatible with either of the Guitar Hero games. Also, the guitar role is the same.

2. The microphone works by detecting pitch. The harder the difficulty level, the more exact you have to be on pitch. There is a pitch indicator which tells you how high you are and how low you are so you know at what pitch you have to sing at. Drums are the same as guitar, only you're hitting pads instead. There are 4 pads and one bass pedal. The bass pedal is displayed as a long orange line which stretches across the fretboard (and below a note if applicable).

3. The drumkit sells for about $80, and I believe the microphone is $30? The entire bundle is $180 after taxes. This is, of course, if you live in the United States. Not sure how much the pricing varies over in Europe.

Hey, As Fusion wasn't pretty sure on the Prices in Europe, I am pretty sure (98%) its:

Mic: £70
Drums: £70
Guitar £60
Game: £40

Everything together is: £160 - £180

Thanks for the help. It might be a while before I get this though, since I'll need to save for the drums and mic. Then again, I'm really not much of a singer, so I might not even get the mic...

Get the 'Special Edition'? I imagine it offers a somewhat discounted price over getting everything individually.

I think I heard someone say that they got theirs for $160. Not sure if it included taxes, and was the special edition. In Canada, it is $169+tax (works out to $192)....Expensive >_>

You could just search some US retailer, like Amazon or something, for the official price >_>

IMO, just get the Special edition, even if you won't use the Mic. Spend the extra $20+tax or whatever it would be for you.

You already have a GH guitar yes? Well, the special edition only comes with one controller, so together, you can have two people playing locally on a guitar (one person could play the Guitar, and the other play the bass)....
