 Topic: Sims glitch. Please help!

I just installed the sims deluxe edition on my laptop and everything is fine until i create my own family and try to move them into a house. They dont show up, it just stays in buy mode. And then the family disappears when i exit to go to the neighborhood. And also when i click a lot to build and press save it wont save it just says that there's an error and it cant. Is there anyway to fix this? I already tried uninstalling it and installing it again and make tons of different families but it just doesnt work.
