re: General Discussion II [On Topic]

I seriously couldn't be screwed.

It sucks... I've FCed a decent amount of songs (not in the Gamb calibur though)... I never took any pics of that screen first screen...

could never get a Kool Thing FC. The part where you strum somewhat quickly and it slows down gradually always *bleep*s me up. >_>
Join the club... I hate that song so much.

Guys, I'm going to start FC'n stuff, too. Well, once I get back home.

By the way, what's Squeeze mean, in terms of Guitar Hero?
<--- hates explaining this. Well, here it goes.

When you use SP paths (www.bradleyzoo.com) you activate on certain notes, and end on specific notes. For w/e note you activate on, you purposely hit the note as late as possible and activate SP right as you strum but still before the note is hit under SP. Then just as the phrase is ending structure the note the SP should end as early as possible to "squeeze" it under SP.

Note: most people activate with select for squeezing since its more accurate.

And not its not easy at all xD
So is the basic premise to control exactly when your star power ends in relation to the song? So as to be able to start collecting some more? I don't see the use. Maybe because I don't understand the underlined bit too well.

re: General Discussion II [On Topic]

let me try in layman's terms.

since the note window in gh3 is so huge, you can strum a note earlier/later than normal, and most of the time you won't miss it.

basically you take that principle and use it right when you use star power, and right when star power ends. usually it requires studying a note chart and finding the optimal star power path.

but to squeeze the beginning note of star power, you strum the target note a bit late, and press select at the same time. at the end of star power, strum the target note a bit early so you can still get double (star power) points from it.

i think that will help a little.

re: General Discussion II [On Topic]

Right^

That end sentence got messed up cause I typed that on the Wii. <_<

Structure was supposed to say strum. xD

And like I said, for paths, go to www.bradleyzoo.com.

Note: I'm not trying to advertise, just saying the site with the perfct paths, literally perfect, because he designed a program that makes them.

Edit: Also on the site you'll notice funny numbers and colors everywhere.

The numbers at the top (example: 2-1-1-3) represtent how man phrases you get before you activate. So say the path is.

2-Next note
1-5th Red
1-End of blue sustain
3-Next note

You can figure out what note your activating on by looking at the colors on the chart. You will see 4 colors. Green, Blue, Yellow, and Purple.

Green represents just getting the phrase.
Blue represents the note you activate on to where it end.
Yellow is a condensed phrase (example you see whammy that has yellow on it, don't whammy that).
And purple which shows you where the squeezes are. (For gh1,2,80s you'll see purple before holds in phrases, this is because you can early whammy SP in those 3 for more SP)

That about sums it up, but a couple more things about the numbers.

Sometimes you see, something like C2, S1, ES1. The C2 is just saying the phrase is condensed (like what I talked about up there^) The S1 means you activate over a phrase and don't get it, because that nets you more points in the long run. And the ES1 one means you'll only ever see in the end of the numbers, its just means there's an extra phrase at the end that you can't use.

Examples for C# - Cities on Flame is a good one
Examples for S# - Phsycobilly Freakout has you skipping over at least 4 phrases (GH2).
Example of ES1 - Story of My Life (GH3), You Really Got Me (GH2)

Hope that helps. Any more questions, just ask.

in other news:

NO ACHIEVEMENTS ON WII SUCKS

i always ask my friends with 360's if they got the "no star power" achievement (beat cult of personality without star power) and none of them have.

i can do it, and my friend on ps2 can, and we always make fun of them and then they beg us to come to their houses and get it for them.

re: General Discussion II [On Topic]

Here's an interesting thought I came up with:

You know how the Wii guitars use the Wii-mote as a source of power right? Will this be the same for the Drums and/or the mic? Does that mean I'll have to buy 2 extra wii-motes to play Band VS Band?

I wonder...

oh, well if i knew that i would have tried harder. i think i got 185k without SP, but i wasn't really trying for a score.
