Head back to Ascalon and then to the Great Northern Wall Outport.
There is a primary quest there if you complete it, it will put you in a new town which has the next primary quest and so on. I believe Fort Ranik is next, but my memory is a little foggy. -------------------

I was only trying to help, I didn't know you'd already done it.
The henchmen are preset you can't change them, they only get better as you progess though the game. Have you tried going the back way in Nolani? Or are you going out the front gate. -------------------

Going the back way is a lot easier and manageable since you don't get a rush of Charr in your face.

The henchman are all pre-set for that town / area they never change.
Once you progress through the game they will be pre-set with high levels. -------------------
