SO, having beat the game rather quickly I decided to check out the extra "treasures" option and have been stuck on the 2nd challenge for quite some time. I won't say how long exactly out of shame but point being, I NEED HELP! Does anyone have any suggestions about how to beat the 20 fire guards without getting hit once? So far, using the guantlet seems to be working out the best for me but one of the sneaky bastards always seems to catch me off guard!

Ya man, that one took me forevah to get through but I figured it out. First, you gotta make sure you're getting at least 4 soldiers each demon blast you do, if not, your gonna run out of magic. Second, the trolls can be taken down with melee attacks, so what I found works best is to use the gauntlet, and do the arial l+triangle slam twice making sure there are no soldiers around and then when the soldiers start coming, using the efreet. At that point the demon blast takes out all the soldiers in the area plus the troll. Think of it like herding the sheep away from the troll, then frying them, but never less than 4 at a time!

i have beaten all the challenges and the 2nd one is by far the hardest. i used the blade of chaos. the trick i used was juggling them in the air and do the chain grab and start slamming them by pressing (circle). i just do the combo(square, square, triangle) to get them in the air and then just start chain-grabbing them. when you chain grab them, it seemed like you are invicible for the time being. just be ready to evade after the enemy died because the other four will start hitting you.

Good tip! I haven't tried that yet. I've gotten it down to 7 using the chains and the l+triangle combo. Keeps them all in the air pretty well but then that one sneaky lil bastard always gets me from behind. Never crossed my mind to try doing the ruthless kills. Thanks for the tip!

anyways, dont know if anyone will see this...

for the first challenge, run around until all five soldiers are next to you.
kill the cyclops with the Hand of Zeus(itll take about 5 shots for a maxed one)
if ANY soldiers get next to the cyclops, go on ahead and use Efreet, its worth not failing.

for the second one, use the hand again. the jump []+L makes you come down like a meteor. use that and a LOT of dodging to get out unscathed.
just keep cool, and make sure you dont land when someone is going to attack.

The second challenge can be very easy, all you have to do is use the L + Triangle attack w/your blades of chaos over and over again. I guess you'd have to power it up all the way first. Anyway, just keep using that attack and you should be able to get through it w/o a problem. As you know it's a 3 hit attack, after the second hit you can change the direction your facing for the third hit. That's very useful for when a fireguard it trying to sneak up on you. After I figured that out it only took me about 9 or 10 more tries before I fianlly got it.

Interesting the first one was pretty easy for me i beat it in my first try. Thats right im the God of War

I was stuck at the 2nd challenge for a long time, but viewing the (under this post) videos really helped me out, and i assure u, the 2nd one is the hardest, but be sure to watch the video's under this post!!
i did all the challenges just like the videos, and i had (cept for the second one) no problem with completing them, just a few tries (around 10 each).

and P.S. the gauntlet of zeus is useful for all challenges, for the fifth one, use the blades of chaos for the harpies, and you'll be finishing them soon enough

Lol do you mean the videos i've posted up above? And the hardest challenge for me was the last one. The medusas kept freezing me into stone and the harpies were crushing me.Then I saw the video and figured out I had to use the Efreet.
