I love this game. IMO, beter than Half-life 1, Halo (which is crap), Bioshock etc.

Graphics are top notch and the gameplay is great.

It's going to have to be pretty *bleep*ing awesome to beat Bioshock in my book.

I disagree with the Bioshock thing trendyskaman, but I also don't think that Half-Life 2 is the greatest FPS ever. It was innovative when it came out, it's still very fun to play, and I do rate it above most other contenders. I just don't label anything as the "greatest ever" because something usually comes out that's better.

I think the only reason someone wouldn't like Bioshock is because they are a hardcore shooter fan and the RPG elements turn them off a bit. While the Half-Life series is innovative in many ways, I would argue that the ambience in Bioshock bests it in the single-player department. Obviously Half-Life gets bonus points for possessing several multiplayer mods that are fantastic and deep, especially with Team Fortress 2 packaged into The Orange Box, but I can honestly say that I've yet to play a shooter that is anything like Bioshock.

I actually like the RPG element in Bioshock, what I didn't like was the fact that it was too easy and too short. Not to mention I was disinterested with the story about halfway through. The game is solid and the graphics are beautiful but it just didn't have everything else I look for in a game to warrant a purchase or more than one replay.

P.S. Play System Shock or Clive Barker's Undying.

I've played System Shock and System Shock 2. Personally, it annoyed me that the weapons degraded to shit after two shots, I'm glad they took that element out of Bioshock and made it less of a pain-in-the-ass to find ammo. I started Bioshock on Hard and am still not completely done with it yet after three or four weeks (of course, Halo 3 has something to do with that) and I find the story to be possibly the most compelling I've seen in a video game, let alone a first person shooter. I also enjoy Citizen Kane and other types of dystopia literature though, so that could be part of it.

I'm not saying that Half-Life 2 is better or anything, it just has better longevity for me is all. To me it's just more fun to play, no thinking just bash as many Combine soldiers over the head with the crowbar as possible. I don't play FPS games to listen to a bunch of communist rethoric, and other socio-political statements the developers wish to impart. Bioshock is a good game, but once again, I don't play FPS's to think.

Why do you hate Halo then?

I never said I hate Halo (people have such a grand way to twist the words of others don't they?). Hell I stood in line midnight for Halo 3 just like a lot of other people. I just said it's not the best and for a single player experience I would much rather play Half-Life 2. Halo is great and all but it's really geared toward multiplayer, especially with 2 & 3. Bioshock is a solid game, but as I said the more I played it the less interested I became. These are just my opinions guys, no need to gang up on me now.

I think that Deus Ex was a pretty awesome game. It's up there with Bioshock and Half Life.

Its fun, I like this game, since on the xobox its only Single player (right?..I never saw multiplayer for THIS one...only team fortress 2...which is awesome!)its much more amazing then Halo 3's and 2's campaign combined! though, IMO, NOTHING! beats Halo 3's mutliplayer... TF2 is fun, but with no Deathmatch, it can't stand next to Halo 3, but it can stand under it...lol, If Half Life 2 had multiplayer on the xbox, might be pretty amazing there too...lol, (on the PC does Half life have multiplayer?

Eh, yeah. It makes me feel sad to have a game like Gears and it lacks a deathmatch mode.
