Hi |

Does Half Life 2 have an AI partner, and if so is it through the whole game? ------------------- I'll Keep your memory vague...

re: Hi |

You will almost always have an AI partner, there are two specific characters throughout the game that join you. At times, you also have an AI squad you can control. However, there are some portions of the games and episodes where you must play alone. ------------------- Whelp, see ya later...

Not in the console version. AI-controlled teammates cannot be controlled by another player in a cooperative mode. If you buy the PC version, there is a Half-Life 2 Deathmatch mode that allows you to play deathmatch and team deathmatch gametypes using the HL2 engine, in addition to the countless number of "unofficial" mod gametypes, including Counterstrike: Source. ------------------- Whelp, see ya later...

quote trendyskamanI just got the game yesterday and after several hours of gametime I've spent about 95% of it on my own. When do these AI partners come into play? ------------------- ![]() Now known as "Xodus"

I can't recall too much about Half-Life 2 itself, but in Episode One (which trendy might have been thinking about) you have an AI partner for nearly the entire time. ------------------- Lego Batman

re: Hi |
quoteI may have overstated the amount of time you have an AI partner, but once you've completed the first 25% of the game (which takes about 5-6 hours, if I remember correctly) you have a companion for most of the rest of HL2. As DMD stated, in Episode 1 you have a companion for most of the game and in Episode 2 you will be on your own for a bit but also playing with a partner again. ------------------- Whelp, see ya later...

re: Hi |
quote linkrox15 hours for all three? That's a lie, but thanks. Although, I find it hard to believe that trendy spent 70 hours on the games unless he just had no clue what to do for most of the time. I remember probably spending 25-30 hours on all three. ------------------- Lego Batman

Did you get the sand achievement? That one alone took me a good hour and a half. I don't sit down and play games straight through, though, which always impacts my ability to say how long I've been playing a game. It took me three months to beat Bioshock, but I probably didn't play more than 30 minutes at a time. ------------------- Whelp, see ya later...
