Some, apparently reliable, source has revealed to IGN.com that Beautiful Katamari has been canned for the PlayStation 3.

A few weeks ago it was suggested that Namco-Bandai was going to develop more games on the Nintendo Wii. This is the first indication that those rumours might be actually true. Apparently Namco-Bandai has canned the Katamari game for the PlayStation 3 and it seems they started working on a new Katamari game for the Wii instead.

Although the PlayStation 3 version appears to have been cancelled, according to IGN the Xbox 360 version is still in development. One of the possible reasons for this is the big success of the Nintendo Wii in Japan and North America, and the 360 large user base.

These rumours haven't been confirmed by Namco-Bandai yet, so it's still purely speculation. We will keep you up to date on the development of this title.
