This will be the thread used to Discuss Madden's Online play. Anything from challenging other Neoseeker members to a game to asking a question regarding Problems you are having with Madden Online.
On a side note If I am Online I usually setup a NeoSeeker room at the Madden Level. The Password is NeoSeeker and Hopefully it will allow you to find a clean game against an opponent who will not disconnect. But if the room isn't there by all means create it using the same guidelines, and hopefully other members will come around for a game.

I have a question....i have a phone line hook-up in my room...my dad has a cable in his room...he is taking away the phone line soon and i want to know how to hook up the cable to the PS2....my dad's room is about 15 feet away from my room...what should i do to get cable in my PS2?

get your self a 15 ft cross over or str8 through cable that will reach room.. i would have done this anyway dial up sux on madden server. cable or dsl is much better

no not a phone cable a "cat 5" crossover or straight through cable,, which ever one your cable modem uses. basically a longer cord that connects your modem to your computer, unplug computer and run to your playstation.

About how much does the adapter thing cost? And how does it work? I have a cable modem. Can i play online and someone else be on the computer doing something online? How does it work?

The unit will cost around 35 dollars, and you can use a cable modem. If you have a spliter you can be online and play Madden at the same time. Although I don't suggest it due to the fact it might slow down your game.

Once you buy the modem or adapter or whatever for 35-40 bucks, do you have to pay a monthly fee to play or is it free? How is it with other games youve played besides madden?

The onlt time you will have to pay a monthly fee is when you are playing an RPG online (I.e Final Fantasy 11, or EverQuest), As for other games they seem to play well, but I use Road Runner so I am not sure on how well it plays with Dial up.

Anyone with a cable modem, how does it work? Is it clear? Does it skip a lot and make it hard to play? Or is it like playing normal only online? Will people have to pay more when Jan. 1 comes around? I heard somewhere that PS2 online will have to pay every month to play. Will the Madden 2003 server be up for a long time, and not only for a year?

I play using Road Runner and it is almost as smooth as playing a normal game. As for paying you only have to pay if its an RPG (Because its harder to maintain the server for Online RPG's) So Madden should remain up and it should remain free.

56Ker here and Madden runs clean as glass. Well so it freezes for a couple of seconds every now and then, but you could not expect anymore from a 56K modem.

I know this is the first online Madden so I'll give EA a little break. But the Online game definitely needs to be improved!

1) Challenges!!! What the heck was EA thinking when they didn't put challenges in the online mode? It's been several times when I am near the goaline and "fumble" the ball when I was clearly down. I've lost a numerous amount of games because of bad calls(And because I foolishly play in the All-Madden room)

2) You should be able to see your opponent's stats when they challenge you. That way if there's a plug-puller if will be as bright as day.

3)When someone disconnects from a game like a little biatch, when they enter a room again there should be an embarassing message that says "(Player) is a plug-puller"

4) Multi-Player!!! It would be cool if you and a buddy could challenge two others to a game.

Well regarding people who disconnerct some of them are by accident. I've played games where the guy just scored to take the lead and then they get disconnected. So while there are alot of people who take the cheap way out by D/C, there are some that just get cut off for whatever reason. So thats why they wouldn't do something like that.

Thats a good point. Didn't think about that. Well I still believe that Challenges should be added as well as your opponents stats on the "challenge screen"
