i was on mount hobbs, or ordeals ,( can't remember which) and an enemy dropped a cursed ring. I started thinking about VI and the cursed sheild turning into the ultimate one. does the same thing happen with the ring, or does sit just suck?

The Cursed Ring looks like it sucks, but it's actually pretty good in the right situation.

It takes 15 points off all your stats, but it also has a hidden effect: any Resists that your character has turn into Absorbs (say Kain is wearing a piece of armor that gives him a resistance to Fire; if he wears that with a Cursed Ring, he'll absorb every Fire attack that hits him).

Cursed Rings work really well with Adamant Armor. Adamant Armor gives you a resistance to EVERY element, and the stat bonuses from it cancel out the penalties from the Cursed Ring.

If you know how to use this sucker. You can turn one of the hardest bosses to the easiest one. Give cecil an ice shield and a cursed ring to make this boss the easiest ever.

ah yes. i beat him. i also found out a great combo with augments reach, draw attacks, and counter.
